i like to know how long it takes for the public to realize the rip-off from the oil companies. it sounds good but as long as they can offer you the fuel coupons the petrol price the pumps are offer priced , they could drop the price by that amount on the pump?

the oil companies are a rip off period always quick to put prices up when crude goes up but never fast to drop it when it comes down again just do your sums see how much crude went up and came down over the last few years then do the same for the cost of petrol over the same period , well it seems someone is making a nice tidy profit and at whose expense ? ours

Well I thought this was a thread about fuel prices etc but then it seemed to me that it was being implied that someone was bit of a smartass and so might be from UK. Was I wrong about that or was Bill's comment made in genuine admiration of both the comment in question, and the intellectual capacity of Poms?

well then if that is the case i think the supermarket's are ripping us off? either way one of them can drop the price.i do not believe that they have to refund the full price for the coupon's as the margin on there product is not that great.

notice when supermarkets offer 10c and 15c refunds that there are fewer if specials available so it probably means they are still at their usual level of profit.

yeah if the supermarket chains can afford to give us discount on petrol why is it if we do not wish to use that we can not get the extra discount of our groceries instead ? or is there more to the setup than meets the eye?

does anybody actually use these coupons?
By the time you fart about getting to service stations that correspond with the supermarket voucher you may well have used the amount of discount in the fuel.
Its a bit like the people who hop from supermarket to supermarket to get the specials, but I suppose there is a sucker born everyday. |

my lady uses them .. i argued that maybe by the time she drives to the stations she uses the savings up lol.. but she's happy to do it and it is beginning to look like if you do it ALL the time (and don't live to far from said station.. you do actually save some dollars . not a lot but some. maybe enough to fill my lpg for the BBQ .. and hey that's the really important thing ... that ones BBQ is ready to go at all times :):)

Yea, but look HOW much can you really gain?? Does anyone of us fill up 100 litres or more?/ Absolutely none! And at only 4 cents a liter, the most that a supermarket has to pay is only $4.00. and to get this discount, you have to spent at least $40,00,

my husband uses them - fill up point is right next to supermarket. And when it usually costs about $80 to fill his car any savings is GOOD.
