Here Here B2 I totally agree patience is always called on when travelling on any road and Pukerua Bay is no exception. If people would just get it into their thick heads the damage they can cause to others as well as themselves they might take their lead out of their boots.
My words may sound harsh but the sad reality is that someone is no longer with us |

| A little place like Pukerua Bay should not even be on a State Highway. This is the main artery beteen Wellington and Auckland. It should be by-passed somehow. |

| Yep agree with you B2, I was down in Wellington last week (I am not from around that area) and found several idiots on the road. Cant see tho how you would by pass those little towns tho, with the sea on one side and the hills right there too also with the railway line to consider as well. |

| The reason why there are no by-passes is because the towns want the drive-through business. Look at Foxton. Town off the main road, then long shopping strip develops along main road. Then speed limit of 50 needed, and so it goes on. However, Pukerua Bay is an earthquake evacuation hazard. |

I identify with your reasoning diligenz, but Pukerua Bay dosn't exactly have that much in the way of a town to worry about.
I'm an advocate for a bypass myself. |
