Crime happens in a split second, within that split second, how can anybody on this Earth respond to something that happens in a split second..
I'm no pycho, but, when it comes down to who's threatening who, as a human being, I will act accordingly..Nobody is going to take from me,what they dont deserve..and yes, I wouldn't think twice about pulling a trigger..
They aren't going to come and make things better, No peolpe, it's time we all started to protect ourselves..
Like they say,"Kill or be killed".... |

| Yes. Without a doubt. The moment someone acts outside the rules which society expects, they have placed themselves outside the protections which society offers. |

| Wat a pathetic sad rules and regulations we have. This country has indeed sold it's soul to the devil. We have people breaking into our homes to kill steal and destroy lives while goverment rules protects the intruders, rapist and such. Our goverment is encouraging the likes of Jonathan Driver of Howick who form one company after another to steal money from us with bankcrupt companies, the youths of today who make their marks by tagging and legalised prostitues so that our children can grow up with aids and hepatitis, no big deal as this is what our goverment policy is. And we call oher countries backward and poor. Com'on, defend our rights! |

| but what rights do you actually have? They tell you that you cannot slap a child or punish a child that lives with you, even if the little s**t just punched mom in the face, kicked dad in the groin, or bought thier sweet little 14 yo sister a bottle of Jack Daniels.... for just being a sweet kid. They also tell you that you cannot shoot an intruder, or even grab one who is trying to flee after you catch him/her in your house. That is assault. I believe you should be required to beat the h**l out of kids that know they cannot be touched because the law wont allow it. You should be able to literally kick the kid out when he thinks that the laws protect their right to be little s**ts in the house, abuse mom not do as they are told. Parents should have support groups for assistance when the little darlings become too big for mom to handle on her own as it was when I was growing up. But of course, until the government begins to regulate itself like it trys to do you rights at home and in public, slim chance of enough people banning together to make a difference. |

Yes i would !! i was burgled several years ago, came home one night to find the door open, most things of value stolen and a heavy brass poker lying on thhe carpet ready no doubt to bash over the head, anyone who may have disturbed them.
There were things like stereo speakers, which they had disconected but had'nt taken so i thought they may return.
I spent several hours hidden across the road with a loaded ram set gun and i can honestly say, had they come back i'd have shot them willingly. |

I have a son in the Police and his advice was awesome. Just have a large hand saw lying around plus a bit of sawn timber. A saw has teeth and a sharp edge, it also has two flat sides and any one of those surfaces can make a mess on human skin. You just have to be brave enough to get close enough to use it. Perfect self defense weapon that was 'just lying around'
I have a 10 shot .22 but getting on in years may not be as accurate with it as I used to be. "Oh was that your balls? - sorry was aiming at your heart"
No one has a right to assume they can invade your premises and take what doesn't belong to them. Most however are on 'P' or similar and steal to feed their habit. Bit of a**enic laced flour might attract them (or the rats) and do the job for you.

I believe that if anyone is in your house without invitation then you should be allowed to use all means necessary, including the use of deadly force, to remove that intruder from your house.
Phoning the Police is a waste of time as they will normally take ages to respond.
Is is probably quicker to tell them that someone is armed even if they are not.
The scum who invade homes and burgle should have no rights whatsoever.
The sooner Poiticians wake up to the fact that we are sick and tired of excusing their behaviour and send them to jail for a min of 10 years with 6 months parole, IF they behave, then the better off we will all be.

| I would not hesitate to shoot at an intruder stealing my stuff or threatening my wellbeing, im in the process of building a house and i have gone out of my way to make it a fortress in disguise for that very reason, i have over 20 different firearms ranging from pistols and rifles, to anti vehicle weapons, all of which i would not hesitate to use in the defence of myself or my property. |

Well this forum has certainly made interesting reading, we all have our views, and some here are alarming !
I live rural, and yes it is a fact that it is difficult for the police too at times respond. But they do a fantastic job, and as there are not as many on the roads at night, responding is always going to be difficult, especially rurally. Yes it is a concern about safety and security, being the fastest people to respond to a call out would be your local fire brigade. They know the area, they are locals and would be there as quick as a flash. It would have to be a real time experience though, as you would not wish to be crying wolf.
If you are that concerned, there are other ways of dealing with things, before shooting an intruder! neighbours, alarm systems, dogs...you cannot beat a dog in your house at night. No idiot intruder would ever enter a home with a dog barking inside. Even a small dog sounds like something bigger, when you can't see them. I have 2 they sleep in the hallway, they know there job...rip your arms off they would. A well trained dog, even a family pet would know instinctively what to do, if it's pack leader was threatened.
Prevention is better than reaction.
Firearms are deadly, and the rambo's in here are concerning to say the least. |

| In New Zealand protecting yourself, the elderly or children is a criminal offence. The legal system supports crime for without crime the judges and lawyers would be out of work. |
