Would be proud of this when the masses in Iran want true democratic freedom. You just kill the lawyers that represented them. This would make JJ very happy as thats exactly what the communists did.
Three of them then died from injuries suffered during their detention. They were so badly beaten that their families could barely recognize their faces, this reporter was told.
The other two - prominent figures in the local community - were executed, having been sentenced to death on trumped-up charges of drug possession, the sources said.
"These men did everything they could to help those people who had been wrongfully detained," one source said. "The two more prominent figures were made an example of by the regime - hence the drug charges. They were both good Muslims, and they were framed by the regime's local authorities."
The regime's aim, this source said, was to discourage other lawyers and activists from taking their places.
On Wednesday, the sources said, protesters came out into the streets to rally in their memory. They carried flowers and pictures of the men, and chanted from the Koran as they marched. Prayers recited by the demonstrators commemorated the lives and good deeds of the deceased.
In similar cases in Mashhad, in eastern Iran, two more lawyers were hanged on fabricated charges of drug trafficking, the sources said. Both were known to have been representing young students detained by the Iranian authorities.
"Why would lawyers traffic in opium? It does not make any sense," said one source. "The government is targeting lawyers - and as a result, many have stopped representing protesters."
In another case detailed to this reporter, a Teheran-based lawyer managed to extricate his brother-in-law - a fellow attorney based in Mashhad - from detention.

inbound you quoted staistics on child deaths.I doubt if israel has targeted children.Most palestinians do not profess to have a goal except kill and kill. The Irish only stopped their madness because women had had enough of their mens' silly games.
The palestinian kids have no fathers are a like a band of roving rent a barrier between the blokes with a rifle and the uniformed israeli troops.Had the Palestinians presented themselves with a united front instead of killing their own police force through their own power struggles we might take them seriously. Until the day when these so called emancipated Muslim Palestinian women get off their collective backsides and take responsibility for the indiscriminant shelling into israeli areas then this stupid war will continue and the less we will care about either of them.If they just tried passive resistance and stuck to it then the Israeli stance would crumble but unfortuneately thugs and men who know nothing but killing are in charge.The day I see women parading in silence and shame through the streets of palestine rather than strapping on bomb belts will be the day when this will end-not all these b/s peace talks.Are the women of Palestine capable of this? Israel knows it is damned by its own behaviour in that report and other reports. Its own IDF servicemen are admitting killing children. 495 War crimes charges many include the deliberate shooting of women and children some under white flags of truce. The Palestinians are legally entitled to oppose Israels illegal occupation and settlement of their territory. They are allowed to legally resist by use of arms against the Israeli belligerent aggression as declared under the Fourth Geneva Convention. You are not only ignorant and naive but totally blind to think Israel is the innocent party....Israel is the accepted provocateur and instigator of all that befalls it from the Palestinians. Israel chose to steal and expel them from their own land. |

| mhol, the Palestinian conflict IS being taken seriously as are their aspirations for their own state. Israel divided the Palestinian militant movements to weaken them and do just what you said. Its worked but it cant work forever, hence Hamas and its rise to power and Fatah now becoming more like Hamas. They will unite because neither can afford to be seen as stymieing the peace talks.....the world is watching this time and the Palestinian people have high hopes. |

Fatah's sixth General Assembly on Saturday approved a resolution saying Jerusalem is an "integral part of the Palestinian homeland and political entity" and vowing to foil Israel's alleged efforts to erase the city's Arab and Islamic character.
Abbas reappointed head of Fatah
The resolution is the latest in a series of hard-line decisions that were adopted by the conference over the past few days.
The new resolution says that Fatah considers Jerusalem a "red line" that no one could cross. It defines Jerusalem as the "eternal capital of Palestine, the Arab world and the Islamic and Christian worlds."
The city "is awaiting our sacrifices" and Fatah pledges to continue to make sacrifices "until Jerusalem returns to the Palestinians void of settlers and settlements," according to the resolution. |

the supporter of the sole terrorist state in this world, Israel, and that blinded by his belief that he can not see what they have done and what they do.
It is Israel that must do as already agreed, return occupied territory to those whom it trully belongs. Attend peace talks and cease manufacturing excuse.
The time is near, that maybe the world will have to deal with them, Israel at the point of a gun, as time and time again they fail to uphold agreements. The way to peace is not by occupying others rightfull territory, not be armed action and invasion, whatever the motive, it is by talking and doing those actions that you have agreed to.
The world waits, but the world tires.
And Bush is no longer in the White House, and no longer do zionist supporters have sole access to the ear of the one occupying the White House. |

you're right JJ.. to keep up with things current is to have Israel's sorry predicament staring at them without question and to watch with intrepidation, Neyt's govt coming unhinged.
Twisty, I've a question for you. Why do you feel the need to give us a run down on Islam? Actually, what point is there for all the anti'islamist postings, or the terrorist attacks in other countries. This thread is primarily concerned with the peasc solution IN PALESTINE.

| Israel brought terrorism to the Middle East. Stern Gang and Irgun were recognised terrorist organisations. Besides, what else can the Palestinians do, talks fail, they cant face the IDF, its far too strong. Terrorism is a last resort and youd be the same if it was you. |
