Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
indeed jj...

there's been little focus in the media of this very concentrated movement between arabs and jews fed up with the years of filtered hatred and gradual acceptance of 'that's the way things are' brainwashing by agenda driven leaders on both sides..

Especially Israel.

'Israeli assassination of Nasrallah would set region ablaze'
By Jack Khoury, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah

Israel is planning to assassinate the head of the southern Lebanon-based Shi'ite militia Hezbollah, a development which would "set the region ablaze," one of the group's deputies told an Arab language newspaper on Friday.

Nawaf al-Moussawi, who was Hezbollah's top foreign policy official and who is now running in Lebanon's upcoming parliamentary elections, accused Israel of plotting to assassinate the Shi'ite group's leader, Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.

Al-Moussawi, who is running for a seat representing the south Lebanese town of Tyre, said that Israel's plan was hatched in concert with Arab governments.

In an interview with the pan-Arab London-based daily newspaper Asharq al-Awsat, al-Moussawi spoke in detail about the elections. He also told the newspaper that Israel's planned large-scale military drill is really a simulation of the army's plan to liquidate Nasrallah.

Al-Moussawi said an Israeli assassination of Nasrallah would "set the region ablaze" and that Hezbollah was preparing for such a scenario.

An Israeli tourism poster is being pulled from the London subway after the Syrian Embassy complained that the map on it appeared to show the Golan Heights and Palestinian territories within Israel's boundaries, officials said Friday.

Britain's Advertising Standards Authority received more than 300 complaints about the ad, a promotion for the Israeli Red Sea resort town of Eilat, according to the agency's spokesman Matt Wilson.

The Syrian Embassy and pro-Palestinian groups complained about it because the featured map appeared to show the territories Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war - the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights - within the borders of the Jewish state, according to the Israeli Tourism Ministry and the British standards authority.

Brazil's Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the extradition of Rabbi Elior Chen to Israel where he will stand trial on charges of child abuse, the Justice Ministry said on Friday.

Chen, the suspected ringleader and spiritual mentor in one of the worst child abuse cases in Israeli history, was arrested in Sao Paolo on June 3 after his local lawyer called Brazilian police with information about his whereabouts and had been fighting his extradition from Brazil since.

Seems like it's contagious at the moment!

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
inbound39; you fail to realise that it is the Palestinians that have the problem that needs to be fixed and right now those other influences and 'billions' of muslims aren't sympathetic to Israel. Israel has the big stick, it has the high ground so why say they have a problem. I think we all agree that something has to be done between the two camps, but I also think you get a bit mixed up at times with who is who. As for those other influences you mentioned [India, China and Russia] two of them have always been there. Surely you have seen the Chinese/Russian AK47's in the hands of thousands of Iranians, Iraqi's, Hamas, Fatah, Lebanese etc.etc. Unless you think Colt or Remington or another arms manufacturer in the US has been manufacturing them and the other munitions these people arm themselves with. Ever considered the point that it may be these influences, yes and the US, that are only using the rest as pawns in a much bigger game with a much bigger stake ?
As I said previously; Israel knows it is hated and it is good at what it does to thumb its nose at the critics.

Didn't the French once supply Israel with huge ammounts of weapons; Ie; the Mirage fighers. France has also been up to its neck in muntions running right across the M.E. so its word is no better than anyone elses. It's done its bit to stir.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
If the current mess is to be sorted it has to be with only those involved in the process now; not have a lot of other critics beating their chests on issues they helped create. It has to be fixed and the less involved the better.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Thats just it xtr. When this conflict started, the major powers of the time were tripping over themselves to arm either side in the conflict. England quietly supplied both sides while making nice noises to Israel, America supplied and still suppleies Israel while making nice noises to the Palestinians, France supplied Israel, Germany supplied both sides and so did russia. Palestine will sit at the table with israel, the Arab countries will stay out if this happens. Israel wants Iran to be invaded, accusing it of being a threat. Israel wont come to the table unless Iran is out of the picture and refuses to fully discuss a two state solution.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Well I'm hoping that Israel listens to Obama and Clinton and stops expanding its settlements, finds agreement with the Palestinians. Iran can come later; and this I think is a 'world' problem and not just a local one.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Xtr...going on your suggestion then even America should butt out. Every nation in the past has armed Israel etc. Where we are at now is they, the EU and America have realised they screwed up and are attempting to put right those mistakes. I am certainly not confused as to who is who. Right now Israel is doing all it can to disrupt the peace talks. They are talking loudly about an undivided Jerusalem when Resolution 194 talks of East Jerusalem being the capital of the Palestinian State and the Road Map says the same. Everyone is talking about Tweo States when the Knesset at the moment is talking about presenting an alternative to that when they damn well know it will never be accepted by the Palestinians. In actuality Israel is going back on what it agreed to in Annapolis and under the Road Map...so where is Netanyahu aboding by his International obligations as he keeps stating he will do?

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Yes, its a world problem and everyone needs to be involved. If its left up to israel and palestinians only, the current situation wont change and there wont be peace, there will be war. Why will israel change without pressure from other nations? saying nothing against israel is the same as accepting what israel does. The rest of the world, especially the arab nations and particularly the US, HAVE to be involved. Its not Netanyahu or Abbas or Amardinejad the world is counting on, its Obama.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
It is not an uncommon occurrence when plans to solve the conflict with the Palestinians are presented in the Knesset, but it is unprecedented when several diplomatic alternatives are raised in one afternoon by the Right.

That's what is set to happen on Tuesday in a conference entitled "Alternatives to the Two-State Outlook." The event, organized by Likud MK Tzipi Hotovely, was purposely timed to coincide with the aftermath of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's meeting with US President Barrack Obama.

"We are in a situation where Obama is presenting a diplomatic plan when it is clear to everyone that the two-state solution failed," Hotovely said. "Israel must have a deep debate and present an alternative, so the world will know that the two-state solution is not inevitable."

Diplomatic plans are to be presented at the conference by Vice Premier Moshe Ya'alon, Shas head Eli Yishai, Israel Beiteinu faction chairman Robert Ilatov and Adi Mintz, the former director-general of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

So as you can see from the above the extreme right is mobilizing to disrupt the process before it has started. They did not like what they heard from Obama and now after the event they are switching to damage control to retain the territories by any means possible.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
If they go for a one state process then they are signing their death warrant. If they want to maintain their democratic process then at some point Israeli Arabs will have to be granted a right to vote which means with the Arab population growing faster than jews ,the jews will be voted out and Israel will be dismantled. The only other alternative is an Apartheid State....the World will not tolerate that and Israel will be isolated and wither. The only option they realistically have is what Obama is proposing...they can negotiate the refugee issue and resolve that and Israel maintains its integrity as a Jewish State. They simply don't want to give up territory they are not entitled to and they want it all their way with no negotiation.

Likud Ministers Ready to Resist PA State

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu would not be able to advance the formation of a Palestinian state, due to the wide majority against it in the Likud faction, MKs who oppose a two-state solution said Sunday.

They said that unlike the fight against the disengagement from the Gaza Strip, when only 15 MKs out of 40 dared challenge then-prime minister Ariel Sharon, this time around, two-thirds of the Likud faction would defy a potential effort by Netanyahu to withdraw from parts of Judea and Samaria.

The rebellion against Sharon also suffered from a lack of leadership, because the only Likud minister who actively opposed him was then-minister-without-por tfolio Uzi Landau.

This time around, no fewer than seven Likud ministers vocally oppose a Palestinian state: Gideon Sa'ar, Bennie Begin, Moshe Ya'alon, Yuli Edelstein, Gilad Erdan, Yisrael Katz and Moshe Kahlon.

"MKs might be afraid now to say that Bibi doesn't have a majority for two states in the faction or other Likud bodies, but later on they will make their voice heard," said Likud MK Danny Danon, who wrote Netanyahu on Friday warning him against concessions to US President Barack Obama in their Monday meeting.

"In any public campaign against a Palestinian state, Begin and Ya'alon would be at the top," he added.

Ya'alon and Begin declined to take upon themselves the leadership of such an effort at this juncture.
