AMERICAN JEWS UNWAIVERING IN SUPPORT FOR OBAMA

Despite fierce op-ed page debates over the Obama administration's actions so far on Israel, Iran and the Middle East as a whole, American Jews are unwavering in their support of the new president, according to a new Gallup poll.

Tracking polls conducted through Obama's first 100 days in office show that 79 percent of Jews approve of Obama's performance so far, about the same percentage that voted for him last November.

Only Muslims gave Obama higher approval ratings, with 85 percent responding that they approve of the president. Respondents who identified themselves as nonreligious also indicated overwhelming support, with 73% indicating approval.

Liberal Jews showed overwhelming support for the Democratic president, with 96% approving of his job performance. Among those who described themselves as moderate, 77% approved of Obama.

Weeds...using extracts from the likes of Raymond Ibrahim and Daniel Pipes will get you nowhere here. They are known bigots and radicals that run the Middle East Forum in support of Israel. If they can distort and denigrate muslims they will and do. Jihad Watch is another of their lovely little hate angels.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called Jihad Watch an "Internet hate site" and claimed it is "notorious for its depiction of Islam as an inherently violent faith that is a threat to world peace." [12] Guardian writer Brian Whitaker describes Jihad Watch as a "notoriously Islamophobic website",[13] while other critics such as Dinesh D'Souza,[14] Karen Armstrong,[15] and Cathy Young,[16] point to what they see as deliberate mischaracterizations of Islam and Muslims by Spencer as inherently violent and therefore prone to terrorism. Various attempts to block the site based on allegations of "hate speech" have been mostly unsuccessful.[17][18] In response to criticism, Spencer states that he vehemently rejects the "Islamophobe" label, "which is only a tool used by Islamic apologists to silence criticism".[19]

The quotes are actually from a muslim cleric who was head of IRAN as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei so get it right next time to sick freak.

Anyone can just google islam and pedophillia or beastiality and Ayatollah Khamenei to read his quotes from the Holy Muslim Cleric to the Muslims. As a muslim holy man I would say Islam is a freak show.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Between January 2008 and March 2009, at least 438 patients had been interrogated at the Erez crossing before obtaining an exit permit to get medical treatment outside of Gaza, Physicians for Human Rights said in the report that it has given to the UN.

Palestinians who head out of Erez to seek treatment in east Jerusalem, Jordan, the West Bank and Israel risked interrogations, said Hadas Ziv, who directs Physicians for Human Rights in Israel. The situation at the Rafah crossing with Egypt was different, but the procedure to leave from there was also very difficult, Ziv said.

The NGO report added that at Erez, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) has questioned minors, photographed patients against their will, detained patients for long periods, and harassed, accused, cursed and intimidated patients.

Those who did not cooperate were refused exit permits, the report stated. According to the report, in one instance a 17-year-old cancer patient came to Erez with her mother at 9 a.m., believing that she had permission to proceed to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
The girl was separated from her mother, her cellphone was confiscated and she had to answer questions about her uncle and her father before she was allowed to enter Israel at 5 p.m.

In December, a patient was left alone in a room at Erez for 45 minutes. He had hoped to go to St. Joseph Hospital in east Jerusalem, according to the report.

When the interrogator opened the door, he said, "Do you want to answer my questions now or not? If you tell me which members of your family belong to Hamas and which to Islamic Jihad, I'll let you leave Gaza for the hospital."

The patient responded: "There aren't any people like that in my family."

After a while, the interrogator gave up and said, "Enough. Take him and send him back to Gaza."

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
"It is incredibly dangerous for any democratic nation when a secret agency with known inclinations toward using unorthodox methods is allowed to operate without supervision or criticism," Ziv said.

Despite its complaints against Israel, Physicians for Human Rights noted that its interrogations were not the only obstacle the Gaza patients faced.

Since February 2009 Hamas police have placed a checkpoint 1.5 km. south of Erez, the report stated. In some cases they prevent patients from reaching Erez and in others they warn them that they would be harmed if they proceed. In some instances, when the patients returned to Gaza, Hamas accused them of collaborating with Israel.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is refusing to explicitly endorse a two-state solution to resolve the Palestinian conflict, participants at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference will this week be urging their elected representatives to press President Barack Obama for precisely that.

SLIDESHOW: Israel & Region | World

The pro-Israel advocacy group's annual conference culminates each year with a mass lobbying effort, in which the thousands of participants from across the United States spread out across Capitol Hill for meetings with their respective members of Congress and encourage them to endorse policies and positions that AIPAC believes will advance the American-Israeli interest.

In this year's lobbying effort, to take place on Tuesday, the AIPAC thousands will be asking their congressmen to sign on to a letter addressed to Obama that explicitly posits the need for a "viable Palestinian state."

It is expected that the overwhelming majority of the congressmen will sign it.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Spanish National Court judge Fernando Andreu announced Monday that he will pursue his investigation into a 2002 Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip, despite contrary advice by prosecutors at the court.

Andreu said the 2002 bombing in densely populated Gaza City might constitute a crime against humanity. That attack, using a one-ton bomb dropped from an Israeli F-16, targeted and killed alleged Hamas member Salah Shehadeh along with 14 other people.

The suspects named by Andreu include former Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, former Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Halutz and five current or former army officers or security officials.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
The Israeli leadership world tours.

Advisers to Neytanyahu are planning a policy framework to present to Obama in Washington on May 18.

Minister Avigdor Lieberman left Sunday for Europe.

Tuesday, President Shimon Peres is to meet with Mr. Obama in Washington.

Such an ambitious effort to reformulate the conflict will be, by all accounts, tough to sell for two reasons.

First, even though the standard approaches have not yielded success, no alternative has emerged.

Second, the Obama administration has repeatedly backed the two-state solution, as have the Europeans. In other ways, too, this White House has seemed to be closer in outlook to Europe than the past administration was.

Israel’s effort to switch the discussion to Iran is likely to be met in Washington and in European capitals with the assertion that it is precisely because of the need to build an alliance to confront Iran that Israel must move ahead vigorously with the Palestinians as well as with the Syrians.

An Israei official is of the opinion “It will be a lot easier to build a coalition to deal with Iran if the peace process is moving forward.”

A senior Israeli official, who also would speak only if not named because Israeli policy was being formed, said he believed that when Mr. Netanyahu met Mr. Obama, he would acknowledge that ultimately the goal was a Palestinian state. But it is expected that he would say that such a state was far in the future because Palestinian institutions and economic development required a great deal of work — as well as investment from Arab states — and that Palestinian education and public discourse needed to be more oriented toward coexistence.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Time for a step-by-step re-statement of the TRUTH, as opposed to Inbound's deluded version of it.

1) A small Jewish presence existed in Palestine for centuries prior to Israel's re-establishment in 1948. Arabs, Druze and Christians had settled in this area also. Control passed from one colonial power to another with no-one seeing much value in "owning" it.

2) Radical Jews and Arabs had frequent clashes at this time, and atrocities occurred on both sides.

3) In 1947 the UN devised a plan for partition. Half to the Jews and half to the Palestinians. A genuine 2-state solution. The Jews accepted this. THE ARABS DID NOT. They vowed to "Drive the Jews into the sea".

4) In accordance with the UN mandate, Israel was declared a Nation in 1948. Jews rejoiced to have a country of their own after some land of their own after thousands of years of exile. They also were willing to allow peoples of all other faiths to remain INCLUDING ARABS, provided they lived peacefully.

5) Arabs decided they didn't want a Jewish state in what they believed was their region so they attacked it with a huge army but were miraculously beaten back by the ragtag Jewish settlers.

6) Following this and not surprisingly, Israeli attitudes to Palestinians hardened with evictions, refugee camps etc. This would not have happened but for the Arab attack. And surprisingly, neighbouring Arab nations did little to help their displaced cousins.

7) The new Israel soon became a haven for Euopean Jews displaced by the N a z i s. Jewish numbers increased rapidly.

8) In 1967 the PLO vowed to expel the Jews and prepared for attack with a huge multi-national army. Israel preempted the attack, routed the massed armies and occupied the land from which they sought to attack.

9) Israel has been pilloried for this understandable and justifiable act ever since.

Continued. . .

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
10) In 1973 came yet another Arab attack which Israel repulsed. Israel's trust of Arab motives now gone. Why should they withdraw from occupied vantage-points just so that Arabs could again move in to attack. The UN in declaring this occupation illegal paid scant attention to Israel’s plight and set far too much store on untrustworthy Arab promises.

11) In 1979 Israel and Arab-neighbour Egypt signed a peace treaty. Israel pulled out of occupied Sinai and returned it to Egypt. There has been no trouble between the two countries since.

12) In 1994 Israel and Arab-neighbour Jordan signed a peace treaty. There has been no trouble between the two countries since.

13) Meanwhile hostile Arab nations such as Syria and Iranian have consistently sought to foment unrest and disrupt any chance of peace by supporting and arming militant groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas. Every time peace took a step closer, one of these groups would scupper it with a terrorist act of some sort.

14) Israel’s heavy-handed responses to the horrific threat they faced, roundly criticised from armchairs around the world. They go after the perpetrators who hide amongst civilians and so are criticised when civilians die. They build a wall to keep the terrorists out and are citicised. Israel invades south Lebanon to disable Hezbollah and is criticised.

15) Israel pulls out of Gaza in 2005 is criticised for not immediately vacating the West Bank also.

16) Hostilities from newly-vacated Gaza begin immediately. Israeli resolve against further disengagements understandably hardens.

17) Israel invades Gaza in Operation Cast Lead. Atrocities occur, of which most Israelis are not proud. Israel condemned again.

Conclusion . . .
