| Israel is the nation being tried for war crimes of killing innocent children....not Hamas...at least post facts smoothsailing! Irgun,Sterngang and Hagganah were declared terrorist groups long before Hamas....Netanyahu,Barak, Sharon,Begin,Rabin et al were ALL members of those groups. |

A United Nations demand for financial compensation for Israeli strikes on UN facilities in Gaza could come to $11 million, a government official in Jerusalem said Tuesday in response to a UN report that criticized Israel for the attacks. The incidents occurred during Operation Cast Lead in January.
The official said Israel would begin negotiations with the UN on this and other matters in the coming weeks.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon accused Israel Tuesday of lying about attacks on the facilities, including one said to have killed more than 40 people outside a school compound, and formally demanded compensation. He said a UN investigation found conclusively that Israel was responsible for attacks on several schools, a health clinic and the organization's Gaza headquarters. Some of the weapons used in these attacks contained white phosphorous, he added.

The report, which was presented to the Security Council Tuesday, accuses Israel of intentionally firing on the UN institutions and using excessive force.

I wonder if it's hate tho. I get the feeling they're simply going where the wind blows as long as it's in the opposite direction to 'us'.
The comments show they have no idea of what steps Israel is currently taking towards making a compromise. Sure there's a way to go but "Livini" (kadima party) and even Neytanyahu have made it clear they are open to further negotiations..

| You can get a more detailed insight to the Quartet Plan at JPost. More or less it is a revised Arab Peace Plan in total with only the right of return clause being adapted so only a limited number of refugees are allowed right of return thus not threatening to overwhelm Israel. All in all my view is it is very fair and evenly balanced and though it is being declared a demilitarized Palestinian State from a legal standpoint once the Palestinian State is declared sovereign no-one can really leagally block it from raising a defence Force. From what I read though the UN will have forces from Nato stationed there for some time. The best news is....the Settlers are going! |

Hamas is being blamed for everything that is wrong in the Gaza.
Again and again the same 'rational' spews forth from the zionists as to why there is such a delay in rebuilding Palestine...
* refusal to recognise Israel,
* renounce violence
* accept existing interim peace deals.
Perspective is the key to understand the viewpoint from both sides.
Two nations, each seeking legal recognation of their respetive states..
Each has the right to defend himself, as is normal between states that are not at war, but not to murder civilians deliberately or attack the territory of the other state. Peace means acknowledging the right of the other to exist and to live and to be free like oneself. Peace means accepting that one cannot get 100% of one's own rights and wishes because that contradicts the rights and legitimate grievances of the other. Peace means being willing to compromise.
Beware of people who want a 'just peace', and don't want to compromise on 'their rights'. It is not possible. It always means they want the other side to surrender |
