Re:Time for a new perception of God Reply to this message
We don't need to read book - any book to Love. Reading scripture is about fine tuning the love. So we are less selective day by day. They were not created to say this is right or this is wrong, or who is worthy and who is unworthy. Scripture is about helping one understand the deepness of Love. The verses in the Bible with this purpose - serve the purpose of Jesus. As with other holy scriptures - as with poem's as with music, as with theatre. Any way to embrace the heart - is a mean's God uses to bring us closer to Him within us

In your book - the only message that matters is Jesus's - His means to understand the heart. NOT the Roman's and their selective verses/books. Have a nice sleep. Ka kite

"...And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols for ye are the temple of the living God as God hath said I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God and they will be my people...."

He walked and talked amongst his chosen people through [ark] and Moses with the miracles in leading them out of Egypt... 10 commandments ...for nigh on human forty years.... yet they made craven images!... I guess it was too hard walking in his way!

Yet God asked them to destroy whole groups of people in one foul swoop..... why you will have to ask him that!

....." ye are the temple of the living God as God hath said I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God and they will be my people....."

The Body is the Temple of Christ.
I will dwell in them & walk with them - means he is with us right now - Living within us. In our very own body /soul. Our heart & Mind.

So much of scripture is metaphoric.

We were born with his Spirit, as part of Him, a san extension of Him.

Babies are the closes being's to God.
Perfect in every way - until we fill them with our beliefs.

When he says come to me like a child - He means come to me with the hart of a child - ready and waiting to be filled with His love. Their innocence, truth & spontaneity.

Re:Time for a new perception of God Reply to this message
I am not questioning the existence of the Jesus, but the interpretation of all holy scriptures is what needs to be carefully questioned.

Some scriptures are misinterpreted to justify actions of hatred.

Using scripture to separate people, and creating division in anyway, saying some are worthy and some are not........

taking them away from what is rightfully theirs - born to be an Divine extension of Him....

is doing a dis-service to God - not service to Him.

Scripture was not created to separate us from God's Love.

Misinterpretation of scripture - does this.

Re:Time for a new perception of God Reply to this message
I am not telling any faith.... to leave their faith and start a 'new faith'. If one follows God through Christ, then be a stronger Christian and seek to know Him as Christ does. If one follows through Mohammed... then understand Mohammed's message as he truly meant it.

( and just for the record.... i am still on this journey too, if I was perfect there would be no need for me to be here on earth anymore lol - although if one has read posts i have in other threads, it can be clearly seen my frustration lies around the idea of hypocrisy - which is also something Jesus spoke about... looking in2 our own eye before the eyes of others)

Anyways - so be strong in your faith, but look deeper into the meaning of the message. Arohanui

System.isthebeast..
I read your post with interest....Its a challenge..to try to bring some form of comprehension or perception of God and still be able to convince some, that there is in fact only one God...and that He is the God that the bible talks about..

Assuming that we all believe that He existed as according to the bible..and He is same, yesterday (from the very beginning).. as he is today and will be in the future and for evermore...logic or our intellectual mind is not able to comprehend and invisible Supernatural being called God as being capable of creating such magnificence as CREATION with such a complexities that science is still trying to figure out using human knowledge..

...However if Scientists are devided in their theory of what or who created this universe then you and I would also have total confusion...

The bible tells us that God reveals His secrets and mysteries to those who hear His voice...This then is open for any old voice to take centre stage...

...If misinterpretations existed after the original bible was written way back in History, then confusion will exist today as to what is true scripture and what is false...sadly it exists today...

Re:Time for a new perception of God Reply to this message
If we Humans cannot keep an open mind to the possiblities that what is in scripture may in fact aid science in the confirmation of histrical events..then progress could well be slow or non-eventful..or as has already happened..some theories have been called absolute....yet would be better described as a possibility or probability....would in mind be closer to the truth..

A very complex Post but an interesting one..LOL..

As a Baha'i i believe it is our destiny to eventually become unified as a race of beings while remaining varied and diverse in our cultures backgrounds etc. All the great world religions are from the same divine universal source and anyone who is connected to that source can understand that simple fact.
God bless you my friends.

Bahai Faith is pretty cool. At essence all faith's are the same anyways ( although people will disagree ) If I say I am a Christian, then I am a Buddhist, and I am a Muslim and I am Hindu & I am Sikh. B/c they all believe in The Divine. Its just the tools & mechanisms to get to Him are different. Its like if you want to get a Phd in Maths. You study various Maths books to become a specialist in that area, & study different theories & broaden ones knowledge base.

Man I had this cool dream about Eric Clapton last night lol

""...If I say I am a Christian, then I am a Buddhist, and I am a Muslim and I am Hindu & I am Sikh. B/c they all believe in The Divine...""

Really?

Most religions interprete their 'bible' differently...the relationship they have with their God is different...how they live their life in accordance with their religion is different...indeed what/who their God is, is different...

...you are a christian perhaps but divine, you are not a muslim...or sikh..

i didnt say i was christian.... i said if i claim to be a christian... then i am a sikh too. yes they all have different interpretations of their path and way to God.... ultimately though - their belief is in a Divine power...... the previous posts i have done talk about the similarities... and its really misinterpretation of their holy scriptures that divides them.... ultimately though they are heading in the same direction and want to - towards Him/It

Re:Time for a new perception of God Reply to this message
lol well actually i do a meditation which encompasses all faiths and religions and non-religious people. The only christian event i have been to or been part of is youth group was when i was at high school many moons ago, and that was purely to get out of the house and there were cute guys at youth group. lol i have been to church on several occasions, and also different temples (Sikh & Hindu) I do believe in Christ's teachings, but also Mohammeds & all the Buddhas, for i read all the scriptures and actually our meditation group has researched all the scriptures for the last 30 years. there is no 'only if' ace.... there is now... & how we choose to live it.......

Re:Time for a new perception of God Reply to this message
and when i say several occassions - that would mean about 10 times in 10 years of meditation. i think i have been to the Gurdwara more?? (Sikh temple) all and all... the time i spend with each faith is pretty much the same.... and the meditation i do encourages each member to remain strong in their faith and understand others..... i came with no specific religion, as once i left high school i became an atheist...... infact i came across meditation 7 years after i left high school, and 14 years after i went to the youth group..... from about 5th form on i had swayed a different direction and by 19 i had lost all faith or belief in a greater power. For 7 years i was an atheist and it was only by 'chance' i came across this meditation group when i lived in Australia.. i was smoking cigarettes, had drunken more alcohol over the years than my liver could handle... the only thing i grasped onto was i wanted truth.... in my relationships with others.... in any way... thats all i held onto... the belief of truth... and something real...... i was buying bread from a bakery on Smith street, a well known heroin street in Melbourne ( no i wasnt a junkie but lived with many lol amazing eye opener for a southside girl who was use to seeing dak lol) and saw a sign saying ," meditation peace of mind," and i knew nothing about any spiritual matters at all... no scriptural readings.. no chakras and ohms and ims... all i knew was - i needed some of that...
peace of mind...... i went in.... & life has never been the same.... we have many doctors & scientists who do this meditation.. who have been doing it for decades... who have been using EEG's to record brain waves of meditators... to do research.... & our founder was an electrical engineer for 30 years with the Malaysian Telecommunications Service.... all i can say... is life has been one adventure since doing this meditation!
