templars came after the first crusade and were warrior monks who exploited money from the people to protect pilgrims
the crusades on the other hand were just a sorry bunch of thugs who hit behind christianity to get rid of Muslims mostly.
Then extended to jews , then orthodox christians
no different to what we see still happening in the ME. |

Templars. Founded in Jerusalem in 1118 after the first Crusade. Their purpose was to protect Christian pilgrims in the Holy Land and to fight the Infidels. They obtained their funds from the assets of those who joined the order and from gifts, not from exploitation. The knights lived without possessions, under vows of chastity and obedience.
I cannot imagine anything less like the situation in the Middle East today. |

US snubs film on theory of evolution

A BRITISH film about Charles Darwin has failed to find a US distributor because his theory of evolution is too controversial for American audiences, according to its producer.
Creation, starring Briton Paul Bettany, details the naturalist's "struggle between faith and reason" as he wrote On the Origin of Species.
It depicts him as a man who loses faith in God after the death of his daughter, Annie, 10.
The film was chosen to open the Toronto Film Festival and has its British premiere today. It has been sold in almost every territory around the world, from Australia to Scandinavia.
However, US distributors turned down the film that will prove divisive in a country where, according to a Gallup poll taken in February, only 39 per cent of people believe in the theory of evolution.
Movieguide.org, an influential site that reviews films from a Christian perspective, described Darwin as the father of eugenics and denounced him as "a racist, a bigot and an 1800s naturalist whose legacy is mass murder". His "half-baked theory" influenced Adolf Hitler and led to "atrocities, crimes against humanity, cloning and genetic engineering", the site stated.
The film, based on the book Annie's Box by Darwin's great-great-grand-son, Randal Keynes, has caused debate on other Christian websites in America.
Jeremy Thomas, the Oscar-winn-ing producer, said he was surprised that such attitudes still existed.
"That's what we're up against, in 2009," he said. "It's amazing. It has got a deal everywhere else in the world but in the US, and it's because of what the film is about."
Early reviews have rated the film highly. The Hollywood Reporter said: "It would be a great shame if those with religious convictions spurned the film out of hand as they will find it even-handed and wise." |

| This very fact that good intentioned moderate religious people try to give a “mystical interpretation” to the inhumane and intolerant teachings of the religions is the very cause of the problem. The originators of these religions were all liars, with no spiritual insights or compassion. They were religious bigots, fanatical nut-heads who lied compulsively and convincingly. They were charismatic psychopaths like the modern cult leaders that emerge everyday in our own time. Their early followers were a bunch of illiterate foolhardy ignorant people. They believed these impostors and followed them with heart and soul. They gave their lives and took the lives of others to establish those lies. They interpreted the harshness and the intolerance of their leaders as the evidence of the truth. When their prophets died many came up with stories of miracles that they claimed to have witnessed, thus gaining attention and respect among their peers. The subsequent generations elaborated on the absurd teachings of those so-called “revealed books” and tried to interpret them into something that would make sense. Philosophers and mystics gave esoteric meanings to the blatantly foolish talks of these prophets and finally the religion became the way of life, each person taking the faith of the others as the proof of the truth of that religion. “How can all these people be wrong?” they would say and is the only force that keeps religious people going. |

| Hello Shmeads i would just like to take you up on a few things concerning your last post. 1.the originators of these religions were all liars,with no spiritual insights. Well Baha'u'llah who is the most recent prophet of a world faith was alive in the 1800s and of course the Baha'i faith is based on the principle of world unity which was of course then not a realistic possibility in the 1800s and is now very much a realistic possibility in 2009 so was this just luck or insight. And the Bahai writings are full of compassion for the whole of humanity and the system to allow that compassion to be realised in all our systems and societies and thus give all humans on this planet true justice and a means to a reasonable standard of living. All sounds pretty good to me,what do you think?. |

my Mother has been in the faith for 30 years....and ive met alot in the faith, they believe in the unification of all humans, regardless or race ,culture they even recongise all biblcal propherts ...
the one thing i liked about the bahai faith more than any other is they dont sell, dont door knock, if your interested its up to you...
7 day was far too structered and like all faiths that ive tryed and explored, humans are the downfall....not the teachings or the word...
sitting on a hard wooden seat listerning to egotizm, and self elevation bored me to tears...
quite study at home and revelation....then trying to practice those princples....
i found much more realistic yes
a relationship...true relationship with god, is very personal and uplifting...axe |

im here to defend my faith. again i ask the question? why do non beleivers give a stuff that we have god? and have a desire to rubbish lord?
ohh i remember.. your interested in god. haha even if your rubbishing, i bet ya have atleast once crossed god in your mind.. like when your going to die in an aero plane. you will start praying i bet!! hahah
also i used to be an atheist, did me no good. i was mentally damaged without god. like you atheist. and i always used to come on here and rubbish god, say hes all lies.
but then i gave christ a go. i had to.. he was calling on me. and im here now... a peice of gods work.. and i was a really naughy chap who held hatred to the world. but now recondition with alot of love for people. because im in no place of judgement. am i. god is. read this.. continue to hate god, its your choice. cause if god wants you. he will take you... most of you will go to hell. sorry just letting the truth out. im on the narrow path to heaven.. rest of you can stay on the wide path, as most go there. to satan... have fun suffering more than earth. |
