Once your mind is corrupted by this false faith you arent your own person!!

Alleged Ft. Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan tried to contact men linked to al-Qaeda, ABC News reported on Monday, quoting two officials with access to classified case papers.

SLIDESHOW: Israel & Region | World Hasan is currently the only suspect in a deadly shooting spree at a US Army base in Fort Hood, Texas, in which thirteen people were killed and 29 wounded.

The suspect was shot by civilian policewoman Kimberley Munley during the incident, and on Saturday regained consciousness at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas. A hospital spokesman says he is able to talk.

One senior lawmaker told ABC News that the CIA had refused to brief the intelligence committee on any knowledge they may have had linking Hasan to al-Qaeda, but that such documents and files would now be reexamined.

US warns against anti-Muslim backlash
Senator Joe Lieberman on Sunday called for the US Army to investigate whether it had missed signs of Hasan's Islamic extremism, telling the Fox news network that "There are very, very strong warning signs here that Dr. Hasan had become an Islamist extremist and, therefore, that this was a terrorist act," Lieberman was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the website of Anwar al-Awlaki, a US-born imam at Virginia mosques attended by both Hasan and three Sept. 11 hijackers, praised Hasan for being a "man of conscience" and doing "the right thing."

Awlaki, who currently resides in Yemen, said on his website that any decent Muslim cannot serve in the US Army, which "is directly invading two Muslim countries and indirectly occupying the rest," unless he intends to "follow the footsteps of men like Nidal."

The statement stressed that Hasan's actions had drawn attention to the dilemma of Muslims living in the US, many of whom are forced to ...

Mike didn't I also say that within that framework we are required to comply with civil,International and humanitarian law and that no religion has the right to impose its beliefs on another? Clearly your comprehehsion skills are lacking.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
by your reasoning that is only "their" truth and may not apply in the veiw of someone elses truth so there is no need to comply with anything because , by your reasoning you cannot say anyone else is wrong..but you do
but you dont do that
yet you do
... you should make up your mind .
i know the truth is unchangeable , its what makes it the truth . you accept any perception of the truth as long as it doesn't disagree with your perception, which implies your perception is right .but the fact remains , your perception does not change or effect the truth in any manner at all ,you accept any perception of the truth except that which you choose to hate .you hate Israel . no one who reads this thread could deny that .

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Mike...regardless of truths pertaining to our beliefs we also have a requirement to abide by International Law,civil law and Humanitarian law whilst living on earth...you know that very well. I do not choose to hate Israel at all...that is your perception which is not based on fact. The absaolute truth is I require the jewish state to abide by International law and the agreements it has signed the honesty of which and absolute truth of which is that Israel under the Road Map agreed to freeze all construction on settlements including natural growth in 2003. The absolute truth is Netanyahu on taking office agreed to abide by previous International obligations and current ones. So the absolute truth is Netanyahu and therefore Israel are liars and cannot be trusted to keep agreements. Israel has a proven history of that...69 Resolutions and they still have not registered that the absolute truth is that their faith has no relevance in International law and that they have no right to impose theior beliefs on another party especially when it leads to the other party being severely disadvantaged and harmed......that in no way adds a positive spin on the jewish faith......it is by Israels choice that this has happened.Israel will therefore suffer the consequences of its choices. That is the absolute truth.

Assad: Failure of peace talks will lead to Arab resistance
By Jack Khoury, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: Israel news, Israel

Syrian President Bashar Assad on Monday warned that the failure of Middle East peace negotiations would lead Arabs to turn to resistance as an "alternative solution".

At an Istanbul meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Assad called "resistance to the occupation a national duty," adding that "to support it is a moral and legal duty and standing by it is an honor which makes us proud."

Assad said that Arabs had a "fixed desire for the realization of a just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the return of the occupied territories, especially Occupied Syrian Golan," but added that "the failure of negotiations in returning all rights means existence of the resistance as an alternative solution."

In his speech, Assad seemed to be referring to Israeli "occupation" on a whole, and not just to his own country or to the Palestinians.

The Syrian leader said that rather than discussing a settlement freeze in the West Bank, he wanted to see a complete demolition of Israeli infrastructure there.

"What about dismantling settlements instead of stopping them and more importantly, what about ending the occupation?" he said.

"We have to keep the problem in its basic framework," he said. "The real cause of it is the Zionist occupation. We must begin to work for the elimination of the occupation since it ensures us stopping then removing the settlements and not the opposite."

U.S. State Department: Israel is not a tolerant society
By Akiva Eldar
Tags: State Department, Israel News

Israel dismally fails the requirements of a tolerant pluralistic society, according to a new report from the U.S. State Department.

Despite boasting religious freedom and protection of all holy sites, Israel falls short in tolerance toward minorities, equal treatment of ethnic groups, openness toward various streams within society, and respect for holy and other sites.

The comprehensive report, written by the State Department's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, says Israel discriminates against groups including Muslims, Jehova's Witnesses, Reform Jews, Christians, women and Bedouin.

The report says that the 1967 law on the protection of holy places refers to all religious groups in the country, including in Jerusalem, but "the government implements regulations only for Jewish sites. Non-Jewish holy sites do not enjoy legal protection under it because the government does not recognize them as official holy sites."

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
At the end of 2008, for example, all of the 137 officially recognized holy sites were Jewish. Moreover, Israel issued regulations for the identification, preservation and guarding of Jewish sites only. Many Christian and Muslim sites are said to be neglected, inaccessible or at risk of exploitation by real estate entrepreneurs and local authorities.

The report makes it clear that practices that have become routine in Israel are considered unacceptable in enlightened countries and should be corrected.

Among other examples, the report notes that more than 300,000 immigrants who are not considered Jewish under rabbinical law are not allowed to marry and divorce in Israel or be buried in Jewish cemeteries.

MIKE OBVIOUSLY IS OKAY WITH DISCRIMINATION AND DISRESPECT OF HIS FAITH IN ISRAEL.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
I do not for a moment believe that Palestinians are faultless, and have repeatedly said so in my writings. But there is little that Palestinians could do - even if they were faultless - to compel overwhelmingly powerful and politically well-connected Israeli governments to accede to a viable and sovereign Palestinian state, as called for by the Road Map, with territorial changes made only by mutual consent. However, if Israeli policy had truly aimed at a two-state solution, it could and would have happened long ago. Nothing would have more encouraged Palestinian efforts to overcome their many shortcomings, or to oppose their rejectionist groups, than a credible Israeli commitment to such a state.

To blame Palestinians, rather than their occupiers, for their responsibility for remaining under a forty-year, oppressive military occupation when Netanyahu's government refuses to consider anything resembling a viable or sovereign Palestinian state, insists on retaining far more Palestinian land than was demanded by previous Israeli governments, rejects the idea of equal land exchanges, and has taken Jerusalem entirely off the table, is to add insult to injury.

If and when Palestinians achieve a state, which they deserve no less than do the Jewish people, it will be time enough to hold them accountable for their shortcomings. Until then, blaming Palestinians for their misery is nothing more than a pretext for the continuation of a colonialist enterprise that every other democracy in the world has relegated to a shameful past.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Last week Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said he would not like to run for re-election in January voting. He left open the possibility of recanting if Israel stops all construction in the settlements, as he has been demanding before peace talks resume.

Erekat warned that if not, Abbas might step down before the election. That would make the speaker of the parliament, Abdel Aziz Duaik of Hamas, the acting president. "How would Israel like to deal with Hamas?" Erekat asked, indicating that this, too, was a pressure tactic against Israel.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
After his triumphant United Nations visit and trilateral New York summit, the verdict apparently is in: Benjamin Netanyahu is the heavyweight diplomatic champion of the world, defeating Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas by a knockout and U.S. President Barack Obama on points. How do we know? Well, we are told, the preeminent goal of the second Netanyahu premiership is now within reach, namely urgent and unconditional permanent-status negotiations with the Palestinians on all issues, with active American shepherding.

Really? Does Netanyahu really want, at the earliest opportunity, to be negotiating the 1967 borders, land swaps, settlement evacuation, and the sharing or dividing of Jerusalem, while there are Palestinians and Americans in the room? I don't think so. So what did he think he was getting himself into?

The much derided and scorned Obama team actually has pulled off one of the more difficult moves in diplomatic choreography. They now have a tricky interlocutor, in this case Israel's leader, enthusiastically embracing their target (endgame two-state negotiations) as his own.

This does not mean we have entered the home stretch, or that a two-state deal is now a foregone conclusion. Netanyahu will no doubt pursue new exit strategies, but several of his more cherished diversionary tactics already have been neutralized, and Israel's prime minister is barely even aware he has been mugged.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Let's be honest: The general assumption when Netanyahu returned to the prime minister's office was that he would do everything to avoid being cornered into negotiating the core two-state issues. That was understandable, given that his opening positions, on territory or Jerusalem for instance, fly in the face of U.S. and international consensus and previous Israeli precedents. And so he did.

The initial rabbit Netanyahu pulled out of the hat to avoid the core Palestinian issues was called "Iran first." That was politely yet firmly rebuffed by a well-deployed counterargument from the Americans. The Iran file becomes harder, not easier, to manage if the Palestinian issue is neglected or allowed to deteriorate further.

Next came the "normalization first" canard: The Arab states must take tangible steps toward normalizing relations with Israel if Israelis are to have faith in a renewed two-state effort. This one showed more promise. Alas, as Nahum Barnea reported last week in Yedioth Ahronoth, when Israel's government takes a meaningful settlement freeze off the agenda, there can be no serious push for Arab gestures.

Finally, we were served the Netanyahu specialite de la maison: "economic peace first." If the Israeli official spin machine had its way, we would all be googling listings for the Nablus cineplex and marveling at the West Asian economic tiger of Palestine's West Bank archipelago. That is not happening either, some overly rosy puff pieces notwithstanding. For one thing, the case rests on flimsy foundations - severe restrictions remain on Palestinian freedom of movement, access to land and resources, and the economy remains precarious.

Re:Hamas.....Two State Solution continue ...
Just as important, the Obama team, while encouraging economic progress, has consistently insisted that interim confidence-building measures must begin with a full settlement freeze. A clear principle has been established: A prerequisite for a gradual peace effort based on mutual confidence-building measures is a comprehensive settlement freeze now; the alternative is permanent status now. So here we are, with Benjamin Netanyahu on the fast-track to endgame two-state negotiations.

This is an Obama achievement secured with consummate Obama style. He has wrong-footed an opponent without fanfare, without vitriol, and quietly reframed the terms of debate to his liking. Of course, Netanyahu may and probably will continue to seek diversions and escape routes, but his opening moves have all been foiled. It seems Obama cornered Netanyahu rather than the other way around.
