I read an interesting article some time ago concerning the warming of the oceans and it's effect on algal growth i.e. it is decreasing. Apparently the photosynthesis carried out by the algae is a hugely significant factor in maintaining balance in the atmosphere.
The main thrust of the article was that our excessive industrial emissions and deforestation have started a cycle that no amount of emission restriction or tree-planting can stop. |
