| Taylor and Mcintosh barely made 40 runs together, what can we really expect from them, ryder and vettori are the only ones whom seemed to be shining at the batting line for us. |

A lead of 200 is only an issue (obviously) if we fold again - but on this track...we should be capable of batting for 5 sessions - ie, draw.
Look for Taylor and McIntosh to shine...I sense a big one from Taylor, our premier player. |

| Yeah we managed to get him out before he could reach 200 that's a positive although India have almost 200 run lead over us. |

| I think India played really smart, I doubt they will lose most likely they would win the first test, since Black Caps don't seem to have any answer to the little Master just yet. If he can come up with 2 tons then the black caps will really be under pressure since no one except for Vettori and Ryder seems to be stepping up and those two can't win the game by them selves. |

| India are paying the price for slow play now....6 down and bugger all of a lead...NZ may yet have a bat and force India in for a second time....before the inevitable draw..... |

| Yeah that first ours play on Day 1 conditions were a little difficult for batting. Combined with some bad shot selection from several of the kiwi top order batsmen. Vittori should have elected to bowl first and give his bowlers a chance to take 20wickets on this good batting track. India all class though |

| Unless they get a move on they will have a lead by lunch tomorrow - not enough time to knock us over on this track I think - it had some life for an hour Day 1 is all - typical Hamilton. |

The only amateur on the cricketing threads is you pal.
All you can do is criticise. Every message I've ever seen of yours Has been full of moaning and b1ching. Anyone can do that newbie. Most of us add something of interest or simply give our & point of view. Maybe you should try it or piss-off. Later hater |

| U cricket fans seem to have a severe case of verbal dysentry waffling on about wonderful centuries under pressure and who would be best to play against who. Our team are a bunch of amateurs and not very good ones and the sooner we drop our team and go back to re runs of the oprah winfrey show the better. |

Totally agree Grant Elliot seems to be calm under pressure.
good cricketing brain. We should see him in the 2nd or 3rd test. More experience will be good for him. and he's a consistent performer. |

Black Caps were never expected to win in the test series.
It's about improving along the way for the kiwis.
Ryder has been very consistent in both forms of the game.
Guptill equally impressive in the ODIs.
O'Brien a real fighter.
Would like to see Franklin & Ryder thrown the ball more often |

Actually playing into our hands are the Indian batsmen focused on individual honours - I guess they assume a 100 against our attack should be a formality so they are going at a snail's pace - Tendulkar some 30 off 90 balls - hardly justifying the position of world's best.
Time for Dhoni to show some captaincy skills and send a runner out to tell these two to move it - although happy for them to bat all day tomorrow at this speed. |

Funnily enough I anticipated players like Laxman and Dhoni to be the big scorers...50-60's from the Big names, but thought these two who are a little less orthodox to shine.
Still pick a draw tho. |

Oh well Raul Dravid didn't quite get his 200 that someone predicted last night. heheh
Good bowling from O'Brien nocking over Dravid.
O'Brien has been going straight through the gate regularly.
Good to see |

Yeah mate, no one scored runs here six years ago
with our green pitches.
Long term it's better for New Zealand cricket to have flatter tracks. |
