Palladin I definitely agree that it's going to be very difficult near impossible to take 20-wickets, and that goes for any bowling attack against the Indian test squad.
With the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and V.V.S. Laxman returning for the tests.
However I don't know why you would want McIntosh in the ODI team. He scores much to slowly. Good for test, that's why hes in the test line up. |

Totally agree.
Southee should be picked every time along with Broom - players for the future so use them now - it is not like we have a cupboard of class to choose from.
I'll stop watching if they pick Styris ever again - and as for Oram - he should do what Bond did - go play for the ICL and be gone - the guy is a waste of space and lives on reputation of three years ago.
I'd have McIntosh in the ODI's too, along with Southee, Broom and Nathan McCullum. |

NZ will struggle in the tests for one reason - securing 20 wickets.
Our top order of McIntosh, Guptill, Taylor are terrific and in a few years time will be dominant.
But aside from Martin and vettori, we'll struggle to take wickets - big totals loom from Indian masters. |

No I cant say I noticed if Tendulker's injured or what the injury is. But yes the Black Caps were well and truly beaten in the ODI series. Nice to see us bounce back in the 5th ODI though.
As for Ryder and Guptill, Whether they were dominated in the first 4 ODIs or not is totally irrelevant.
These two young cricketers are a rare find. Both equipped with good basic batting techniques that have seen their averages sky rocket. |

| As a neutral supporter did anyone else notice how if tendulkar is injured India always seems to lose, even though on matches he doesn't contribute to, him being there seems to be the tipping point, although I don't think he played the last two one dayers. As for Ryder and Guptill true they were outstanding on the last one dayer, but at the same time they were totally dominated on the last 4 one dayers as well, one must look at both sides of the coin but now black caps will be very positive on the test with one win under their belt. Now if we can repeat that performance one the last one dayer we might be in for another stellar performance and hopefully test win. =) |

| Black Caps only needed to chase down 150 for the win after restricting India to 149-runs all out in the 37th-over. Black Caps won in style with 8-wicket and 27-overs to spare. Ryder & Guptill outstanding again. Both bringing up their 50s in quick fashion. |

| Good to see a little more experience in the Black Caps side, in the form of Scotty Styris. Boys off to a better start today anyway. |

Can Black Caps win the last ODI tomorrow. Hopefully we get a full 50 over game. The good news for kiwi fans is that (Virender Sehwag) is due for a low score. Then they wont kill us with that crazy fast run rate.
Slow down the run rate and put some pressure on the Indian middle order, and try to salvage some pride from the ODI series. (looking foward to the tests) |

(Styris) is in some good form in state cricket.
(Oram) isn't.
We should see a change or two in the final ODI. |

why not Kane Williamson,
Nathan McCullum or Jeetan Patel?
why arent these guys being given a go?
i know why,
its because Vettori thinks hes the man
& can do it all by himself, but hes wrong, the need for
another spinner to be grown into the international
arena for NZ is now,
not after Vettori is gone ffs. |

going in with a 2 prong spin attack against
India should have always been the way to go,
Southee should have played ahead of Thomson or O Brien
regardless of form, because he knows his home
conditions & grows an extra leg at home,
Broom shouldve played ahead of Oram in terms
of a form player, understadable though with
Jakes huge experience, but scores of that, zip & zero
arent good enough, its only hindsight & yada
from me,imo calls for Bond will never eventuate
it seems?,and thats a shame,cause hes definitley
the menacing presence thats missing from this
current bowling outfit,hed provide huge
aggression,Determination & impetus,my type of player |

its funny getting home & listening to the
commentary of the game, its fascinating hearing guys
like doull & smith going on & on etc
NZ has to do this,NZ has to do that,
mates, they forget India has a formidable
bowling line up thats as good as they come,
their batting line up is incredible, the total
all round team at the mo
their outfielding is still dodgy, but all in all
BC's were soundly beaten last night,i'll never
support another country apart from NZ,but
i do respect class,Keep your heads in the game NZ,
just bring in Jeetan Patel for Ewen Thomson |

It's pretty easy to start axing the once who aren't performing.
(But that doesnt leave you with a team)
just a thought... |

| now that the series is gone . we shuld concentrate in putting new blood in the mix for the last ODI.lets give our new guys a chance. drop 2-3 guys that have the worst average in bowling and 2-3 guys with the bat from the last 3 ODI played.this will giv us a chance to see who is able to handle the pressure. |
