Fark I reckon, Although Franklin bowled well against the West Indies he hardly bowled in the last test. If Vittoris not going to throw him the ball more often. Then I'd rather bring in Southee. He's a much better bowler and I believe more handy with the bat too. Good to see the out of form Kyle Mills dropped and The talented Patel brought in finally.

editit good user name.

Anyway Crow's back in form today, plainly summing up how nz performed in the last test and how they need to perform in this test. He also criticised the order of the batting line up, with Franklin batting to high and Vittori & McCullen batting to low. Good on ya Crow that's why we like ya

it's not about styris or his answer, it's about the way the questions were posed in a way that showed disrespect to his fellow commentator and his negitive comments in general.

Crow is respected world wide, but your right that's no way to speak to a countrymen live on tv, being beamed to billions in India. I thought Crow was quite unprofessional actually. Scotty Styris was the bigger man for not responding childishly like Crow. It's a shame because Crows commentary is usually very informing and refreshing, not being afraid to voice his opinion.

Yeah i agree with crowe asking styris why he plays 4 day cricket opposed to 5 day tests ( even though nz tests ususlly last only 4 days anyway). Styris never gave a reasonable answer

I'll defend him.
He was and is a perfectionist and yes he is full of self confidence (some call it arrogance). Show me any top sportsman who is not overflowing with confidence which breeds success.
So...when Crowe sees our players, like Taylor, fiddle around and look average (yet have immense talent) he responds in frustration - our side should easily have saved the first test - to capitulate as we did was pathetic and frankly, unacceptable when they represent US! My belief is they owe it to the country they play for to do their best, or get out.
I have nothing but admiration for Crowe. In his time, the best around. Arrogant? Maybe. Opinionated? Yes, but with his record and reputation I'll listen every time.
His questions to Styris were accurate. Styris wants the best of both worlds - the income from cricket and the ongoing crowd adulation, yet doesnt want to the harder yards in tests - Crowe saw through that. Personally, Ive never been a Styris fan.
There you go mate....support for Crowe.

After listening to his commentary this summer he goes from bad to worse as in being totally up himself, ie: talking to scott styris during the first test. Why does his fellow commentators not rip into him?
I'm interested can anyone defend him?
