Re:Twenty20 World Cup Reply to this message
why don't they hold these tournaments in locations that have fine weather in summer. a potentially exciting event could well be ruined by pommy weather.

Re:Twenty20 World Cup Reply to this message
Yes good to see the Netherlands beat the Poms, and the West Indies beat Australia - Chris Gale smashed 88 from 53 balls.

Good win for us over Scotland too.

With the 20/20 game all Nations have a chance

Yes

Way to go the dutch

It's not the end of the tournament for england, but you wouldn't have thought that after their depressive looks and crumbling fumbling fielding, extraordinary game from the netherlands, they must be smoking some good stuff.

Way to go Netherlands ...

It's not the end of the tournament for England but their fans and management will not be impressed losing the opening game at the 'Home' of cricket ...

Blackcaps to make the final four at least - Along with Australia, India & West Indies ... Maybe

Re:Twenty20 World Cup Reply to this message
Good win for the Black Caps over the current champs - India
in a warm up match.

New Zealand won by 9 runs
NZ 170 v 161 India

Everyone performed well, standouts - McCullum, Taylor,
and Franklin who smashed two 6s & a 4 of the last over.

standouts with the ball - Vittori, Oram, and others
Ryder couldn't get in to double figures.
Definitely a good all round team performance though

Good stuff Black Caps

Re:Twenty20 World Cup Reply to this message
I think the Black Caps have really good show they are a team made for this style of cricket they just need to pull it all together for the whole tournament. McCullum(S),Taylor,Ryder (don't know if he's playing),Oram,McGlashan,B room,Franklin,Diamanti can all show that they can make quick runs when needed and if they all did this throughout the tournament then watch out world, lets not forget Piggy either... Look out for India,South Africa and the little Lankans they will be tough teams to beat.

Re:Twenty20 World Cup Reply to this message
Shohab Aktar? Genital warts? gutted

Pakistan
India
Australia
South Africa
Sri Lanka
These teams will be a huge threat to any chance that NZ may have
I hope NZ can do it or get close
P.S. McCullum is a machine on his day and Taylor is coming into good form, NZ will have to bat confidently

Maybe sounding a bit silly here, but with it being played in England, you can't discount the host nation.... God forbid!

Re:Twenty20 World Cup Reply to this message
Hard to say mate, Hayden and Gilchrist are in devastating form in the IPL 1st and 2nd on the most runs scored. But I don't think they're available to play for Australia. Although I have herd a rumor Hayden mite be available.

McCullum and Taylor are in good nick. Oram and Vittori going well too. McCullum and Taylor both high up the list for the highest scores in the IPL

India have a wealth of players to choose from, both old and new players performing well, and quite consistently.

Can't count out the South Africans. They too have key cricketers all playing well, and featuring in the most runs scored, and the highest scores in the IPL

So the winner of the tournament will most likely come from one of these four teams you would think. With the Black Caps being the dark horse, you never know.
