It's a great idea investing in young players for the future of New Zealand Cricket.
But if they're not ready there is no point giving them international exposure if they're going to be belted all over the the park, and lose confidence.
which has possibly been done with Tim Southee already |

| Tim southee! NZ cricket should be investing in young players for now and in the future not resigning broken players like bond and mills and tuffy and orum its a joke. |

| Palladin, Bonds second ball of the first onday game was 143.9Kmh, tell me mate, who in the new zealand lineup can do that at the moment. Secondly Insider. bond used to bowl 150Km + before he had his back operation about 5-6 years ago, since the operation he had to change his bowling action to preserve his back from exploding. He was bowling this speed 3-4 years ago before he went to the IPL, nothing changed there. |

Yeah hard I still enjoyed watching Bond & Tuffey bowl.
Bonds definitely lost 10km in pace. Still a good man to have back though |

| Where are these "2 young quicks" you speak of? I got to a fair bit of domestic cricket last summer (got a good tan) and the only other young quick from any district I saw was an ex-pat Saffa who is not elligable for another 2 years. |

Bond is just another trundler...his second and third spell was late 120k's...in my mind we are best to find a youngster in his early 20's and get rid of both Bond & tuffy...hardly likely to cut through any test line up and ODI's are just hit and giggle...
To me we need Southee back and he can replace Oram...then find two young quiks and give them experience... |

| Even though we got SMASHED last night, I enjoyed watching Bond bowl. Even Tuffy was good and I've never been a big fan of his. If only our batters could improve. I didn't see our innings, but we must've been bad! |

Yep 138-142 is quick enough when you have a good slow ball in your a.r.s.e.n.a.l.
I think tonight in the first ODI Shane Bond may have a bit more in the tank in terms off pace
I see Brett Lee's still bowling around 150km |

If Bond can play another 2, perhaps 3, years more, most people would take it.
I was so impressed with his changes of pace in the last 2 T20's. He's not bowling in the high 140km's anymore, but 138-142 is quick enough. He's a far cannier bowler now than he was 3-4 years ago. That first ball of the 2nd T20 to Dilshan was a beauty. Dilshan expected a quick one and got a slow ball first up and missed it by a mile! Great bowling. |

Go Bondy indeed. Details scarce but he took 3/26 in NZ A innings overnight. Took wicket with first ball, then another an over later, then one more on comeback later in day.
Can't wait to see him back in internationals soon! |
