| Idiots, leave Ross alone he has fantastic style & power, makings of a top leading batsmen, unlike tired players like Fulton & why carn't NZ give up on the pretty Marshalls who can't even score a run or bowl a ball. |

Thomas - the question "why is the sky blue?" might be easier to answer.
There aren't any strong candidates to open the batting - How is being touted as a No3, so I would suggest that perhaps a new opening partnership would be in order. Guptill? McIntosh? Watling? No one has hit the runs domestically to warrant selection.
As for Fleming's spot, perhaps you can argue a case for Greg Hay or ahem....cough, cough....Jesse Ryder?
Fast bowlers in NZ? Good luck, they all seem to break down after a few seasons. Southee, although not super fast, is accurate and seems to have a good cricket brain, which you can't say about Gillespie. Sherlock a few years back was apparently bowling over 150kmph but has had back issues and is now only medium pace at best. |

| DUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH!! !!!!!!!!! Well done Ross you got the last laugh on this blog now who can asnwer the next question? Who is going to replace Fleming after the last test in Napier? And is there anyone else worthy of opening the batting in NZ? We also need to find another devastating fast bowler somewhere. |

| I agree, he is a flat track bully but he couldn't get a score in both innings on a flat deck. Terrible shot in the first innings and got brilliantly caught in the second but he was not in control of that shot. Who would you replace him with Elliot or maybe Hay he has 3 tons this year and looks the part. |

| Well done Ross Taylor! Played straight, hit the bad balls for four, defended well. I had my doubts whether he could adapt his game according to the game situation, but he certainly did today. Hopefully he and How can firm up the top order over the coming year. |

| taylor has 24 n.o, 31 and 48 at a run a ball and people don't want him in there. Man if thats the case Fulton should go buy a lotto ticket. Go Ryder by the way even if he does fail sometime in the future he still has fun. i was at the Napier game (he just missed me with the first six)and he was cracking jokes when fielding and having a good time. he got offered about 20 pies in half an hour. |

Great game! Hats off to both teams. Poms must feel pretty chuffed coming back in the last six overs - that after scoring 340!. And then the Black Caps probably feel like they.. well ... what can you say.. watching Jamie and Dan at the end... the looks... it was just like theyd just been found kissing their sisters.!
Can't lose the series though! Well done boys! |

| Fulton looked ponderous at best - you could tell he was scared coming in needing at least a run a ball, and he couldn't handle it. You would have to question Oram/Styris's shot selection at that particular moment in time as well. But the problem is that the batsmen shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place, our bowlers were all over the show, they should have realised bowling short at Mclean Park is not a great idea. They can't expect our batsmen to continue to chase 300+ all the time... |

| The Black Caps innings today ground to a great halt when slow mo can't score runs Fulton appeared on the scene. Why the hell he was sent in to bat before Oram just boggles the mind and whoever made the decision needs brain surgery. The Black Caps innings lost its structure. Apart from Fulton and a still out of form Styrus the guys played a magnificent game. Hats off to England for the last 6 overs they bowled. |

Who says one day cricket is dead? Not after that game. It had everything! Big ups to Jamie How, I didn't think he had enough shots to keep up a strike rate, but he proved me wrong today. Hopefully he now has the confidence to continue the way he did today.
BTW - its pretty hard to sustain that sort of run chase, perhaps it was an opportunity lost but the way some of our bowlers bowled in the first innings, a tie was probably a fair result!!! |

| jeeesh, tough audience, almost 700 runs scored, you gotta be happy with that. If after England had batted scoring 340 runs the option of a tie was given, I think I would have jumped at it with both hands, OK we didn't win, but great effort!! |
