| southee is a good prospect...you are all pessimistic and narrow minded. this entire blog site is such dribble . each opinion swings as results do. eg jacob oram is worthless , ross taylor should be dropped, shane bond is past it...england don't have the heart to win...all of you guys have no idea |

I agree with "msing" that I wish we had more options than looking forward to having an saffa becoming available to strengthen our bowling stocks, but we really don't have a lot of other up and comers - apart from the dirth of medium pacers that we always have.
If Wagner wants to emigrate and play for us, I say cheers mate, and wlecome back Bondy, we missed you. Even at 3/4 pace you'll still do us proud in T20s and ODI's |

diwepa I totally agree.
Bond and Tuffy for that matter are a waste of time - both well past their use by date.
Bond has never fronted when it mattered and watch, he will be mysteriously injured again when the chips are down and he has to front. |

Yep I enjoy all forms of the game as well.
But when it comes to Shane Bond I think to have him involved
in 2 of the 3 forms of the game is better than 0 out of 3
fingers crossed hopefully he will return to test cricket all so |

| When it comes to Mr Bond, you have to clarify what you mean by "cricket". To me, "cricket" means "Test Cricket". If Bond can't (and frankly I don't think he will) man up and play test cricket he ain't worth bringing back IMO. If you think 50 or 20 over cricket is impt good on ya, but it doesn't spin my wheels. |

Oh so his name is Neil Wagner. Cool he's the South African aye.
I didn't know his name, but I herd he's pretty quick.
I'd like to know how old he is, and when he's eligible for New Zealand
Maybe another 2 years before he can play for the Black Caps |

| By all accounts Bond and Neil Wagner from Otago were the 2 fastest bowlers going around in NZ domestic cricket over the last summer, so he can certainly still offer something. Can't wait until Wagner gets elligable to play for NZ. Left arm and sharp pace, could be a great addition to our attack which is often maligned as being too much of the same type of bowler. |

Bond and Tuffy would be in my team, and I believe they deserve another chance. Lets face it who else is there ?
They've both been performing well in domestic cricket, Tuffy actually took the second most wickets this season and Bond is still a bit faster than anyone else we have. Are they going to perform at international level once again ?
Well I guess we'll have to wait and see... |

| Ridiculous - guy is 33 - injury prone and picked on reputation built 5 years ago - neither he nor Tuffy would be in my side. |

| Yeah very good point about his work load, he's looking fit and healthy. He's talking about playing all forms of the game too. I seen him on code, which was really interesting. Bonds back and he should be in a class of his own. |

Yeah, I reckon he'll add something to the team as well. Awesome record!!
One thing in our favour also is that he hasn't actually had a heavy workload the past couple of years. I mean this year all he has played is a handfull of 20/20 and one day games for canterbury. Last year was the same plus the ICL.
In addition, he was out with injury so much when he was playing test cricket that he wouldn't have exactly burnt out. Touch wood he is over his back injuries (he's certainly been clear the past 2 years. If he is, he should have plenty of energy and enthusiasm left. We might get three years from him....who knows. |

Yeah I hope we can get Bond back to his best
having Bond back in the squad has to be a good thing
I mean it can only help, there's still some Bond magic left in him
Bond has bowled the best spell of any NZ bowler to date - taking 6/19 against India to save NZ from defeat. Also 5/25 & 6/23 and a hat-trick against Australia, and much more. |

Shane Bond back in the Black Caps structure with a NZC contract
He's starting off in the New Zealand A team, to finely tune him self. But at 34 years of age I feel we may have missed the best of Bond, hopefully we'll get a brilliant 2 years from him.
His record speaks for its self - test 17 matches 79 wickets at an average of 22.39. ......................... ..- ODIs 67 matches 125 wickets at an average of 19.32 |
