i used to find tests very boring. hated them almost. but as i began to properly understand the game and all they stratey etc behind it i began to love them. i look forward to tests now. and enjoy that i can have the tv on while doing something else. yes they are drawen out and yes half of them end in draws but that just makes the results all that more special. anyway thats my opinion

Msingh, my comment about the popularity of tests here wasnt just my opinion, I often ask peolpe if they are watching the cricket and a very very comon answer is that they will watch the one day games but cant be bothered with the tests as they are boring, I think you made a valid point tho, We dont have a strong test team and the suport might be alot stronger if we were!! I think in other countries especialy in east asia(india , Pakistan, etc) the support would be fenominal for this form of the game and a cash cow as well.

At the end of the day something will have to give3 and it will be the least money maker that will be moved on. I personally think the oneday game is more strategic than the 20/20 slog, Although 20/20 is great to watch it really is 50/50 chance game as it is so short, however great for the spectators, so the cash will roll in.

if the 50 over game goes or tests get changeed then sachin tendulkar wont be regarded as indias best batsmen...yuvraj or yusuf pathan will ...only my opinion...but i reckon its algud atm.

sasnz2@rocketmail.com i can see why u think tests get boring...u mostly watch nz matches and they are pretty boring if u ask anyone..but to say tht all test are boring is a pretty far comment...remeber when india was playing aussie...it was all tense...watching brett lee bowl to dravid and co....then u turn it over and its nz vs bangladesh...and i also reckon i will get flak for saying that but its what i think.

I Guess that you have to look at the popularity of the sport and the amount of cricket that is played by our profesional cricketers. Unfortunatley 20/20 was ment to be another cash graber and it has worked out well but has created and extra unwanted stress to profesional cricketers. Players like Bond and Oram just to name a couple have been weakened due to the amount of cricket they play and are breaking down in the later years.

I know i will get some flak for saying this but it is my opinion that test cricket should be the form that needs changing as it is the least popular form of the sport and if you talk to most people about the test they say it is boring to watch. This is clearly evident in the stands when the tests are on. Another factor is most people simply dont have the time to take week days off when the tests are on to watch them. As a sugestion maybe have a 3 day game with a limited over scenario, just a sugestion to those wanting to keep the test thing alive.

I personally think that the money is in the oneday and 20/20 formats, personally i would rather see another short game series with another nation a year than see the tests drawn out, after all arnt half the tests played drawn.

Any way fire away, just my thoughts.

I think there is a place for all three formats.
I love test cricket and 20/20's are great entertainment for the masses but it's the one dayers i look forward to the most. leave them alone i say none of this 25 over innings BS.

yea 20/20 hasnt helped tests and odis but it is still a good game...more people are strating to like cricket again...i still belive tht tests are the main priority then odis..but if your sum1 like brendon mcullum who is better at 20/20 then why bother in tests....he could be earning heaps...just a thought

Theres been alot of talk lately that the need for the 50 over game is becomming less and less and should just be replaced by 20/twenty cricket. your thoughts? personally I would love to see 20/twenty go and just keep one dayers and tests. I think 20/twenty has ruined the one dayers and in our (New Zealands) case the tests.. to some extent.. not that we were that flash at it to begin with though.
