Do teams need a coach....it has been asked....
...well Tiger Woods has a coach...Federer has a coach...Man United have a coach...and so on...
...the coach is there to show the player(s) that their peak is not the highest they can go...to motivate them to achieve more...to mentally get them ready for the best...to tweak technique...
...it is NOT rocket science...but you need someone the player(s) respect and will listen too... |

| Yes Warne_is_God, you have a good point. Infact, until the early nineties no international team had a coach. If you cast your mind back to the mid-ninties, the NZ cricket team had issues with Glenn Turner, they've had issues with John Bracewell and now Andy Moles. Is there a pattern emerging? Should there be player power? Why is the coach not a selector? |

Sack whoever started the process within the camp too.
Ridiculous situation.
NZ Cricket have themselves to blame...they picked Bracewell then Moles.
Where is Wright...Crowe...heck even Stephen Fleming as manager would be helpful. |

| Why not get Warren Lees back as coach. Was only sacked because he put player safety ahead of cricket on Sri Lanken tour. His results were great and he was innovative. |

The radio and news reporters concentrated on bagging the players, but in todays paper the guy who broke the story says the players are not the source of his information.
But hey never let a chance to slam our team go by eh.

| Maybe they should just let Vettori take over as Player/Coach fulltime. According to "The Press", he's been coaching the team for the last six months, and he got them to the Champions Trophy Final too. |

| Get another aussie coach, John Wright has shown he doesnt want the top job yet, Crowe is still tied up with sky tv, Bracewell and Moles have shown that English county coaching doesn't count for anything |

While I agree that John Wright is a better coach than Moles, what I would do is ...
Invite every member of the cricket to say if they wanted Moles gone, then I'd boot everyone of them that said yes.
Its about time that they learned that the players do not run the game. |

| totally agree with every1 on this...andy moles has nearly had a one year of coaching nz..results wise he should be sacked sooner rather than later...Crowe,wright...ev en someone from another country who has been there and played at the international level. |

Moles is no good as nz coach, I'm a purist of the game and I believe test cricket in it's purest form should be cherished and persevered with forever regardless of the success of 20/20 and one day cricket, it's just one persons opinion, I like test matches, yes they bore people because of the length of time the match is played, but it's a true test of a cicketer, this has been disregarded in recent times and I believe a guy like wright John Wright and as ace_vendetta pointed out
the martin crowes of this world should be brought in to bring the best out of these guys, just their presence around these guys should have them nervy, get rid of the cliques which were bracewells trump card tactics, too many professors and hanger ons for my liking, give the coaching roles back to those who know best, the ones that have been their , done it, and succeeded, too much excess baggage, less is best,
John Wright for coach, get rid of moles asap. |
