Whether there is a coach or there isn't it all comes down to the skills of the players and quite frankly those we have just do not have what it takes to win anything consistently. Oh sure we win one now n then but these are just token efforts and laughable.
As for 'those injuries'; NZ has been in cricket long enough to have built up a decent player base so no excuses.
We are missing key players as everyone knows. We were soundly beaten but I hope we can bounce back for game 2 on Friday.
We must keep in mind the fact that we Knocked the Pakkies out of the ICC tournament so they will be pumped up for this series, and will want to perform well on their home turf.
As for Oram I believe if he doesn't stand up over the next 2 ODIs then he should be dropped. Hey and lets remember our guys are over there with no coach.
The only stand out performers from game 1 were Bond, Vettori and Redmond.
The sooner we have Ryder, Mills and Elliot back the better.
