| Talking about pitches; I think it was scandalous that the people in charge of the Basin Reserve did not have a pitch suited to the Black Caps. It was more than obvious that Vettori was disgusted at the surface. All the greensmen overseas doctor their pitches to suit the home team but not here, the asshol.s. |

Given the fact that Fleming had limited resources to work with, I think he quite clearly established himself as one of the most astute and innovative captains in world cricket. STAND PROUD STEPHEN FLEMING - you have my respect.
And also the fact that he had some pretty (early drop-in) tricky NZ tracks to bat on, I would suggest that his average would have ended up a fair bit higher than 40. |

| Afraid not whoofie. He was on 39.81 before the 3rd test, neded 113 runs to reach 40 and scored 59 + 66 = 125. |

| mediocre batter [40 av.] great Captain; shafted by Bracewell and Hadlee. Take my hat off to him for putting up with the crap in recent months. Hope he makes heaps in India. |
