| Is there anyone else out there watching the first one-dayer against England? What a debacle. I am embarrassed to call myself a NZer when I watch the likes of these clowns in black. This current one day side is as weak as it has ever been. Marshall, Hopkins, Flynn and Mason couldn't make the Scottish 2nd XI, Styris and Mills are past their use-by dates. The only half decent players are Vettori, Oram and McCullum and actually McCullum might possibly be the most over-rated player to wear the silverfern. I constantly hear comparisons to Adam Gilchrist (what a joke) for a start Gilchrist averaged nearly 36 with a strike rate of 97 and McCullum averages around 27 with a strike rate of 89. I won't bother with the other NZ statistics because it is just too painful to type. Do yourself a favour NZ cricket and bring in a handful of 19 year old kids for future development. I would rather see youngsters playing and losing than these sorry and tired 3rd rate players making a load of money for constant under-performance. PS, the ICC cricket ratings are obviously whack, because apparently we are the third best one day side in the world?! |
