| Rugby is not for retards. For years League clubs were signing union players. Both codes are great to watch, each has its own value to it's respective fan base. I grew up playing Union so union is slightly ahead for me. |

Not bad ratings there Walsh. League is great, only at NRL level. I enjoyed this years Fox Memorial too.
Internationals still suck, coz Aus dominate. There are only 3 teams in it really, Aus, England & NZ. |

| Rugby over league for sure. Better game with more variety. It should have retained a few more of the ELV's though. I'm sure there will be a few rule changes after 2011 world cup to encourage more attack orientated play rather than the big focus on defence. Rugby is growing world wide at a faster rate than ever before. Now that it is an olympic sport that will improve growth even more. Go the Magpies, the Hurricanes and the All Blacks. League should just go away. |

| Union definately. League is so boring five tackle kick, five tackle kick. Plus, I just can't get my head around those League scrums - you can't call yourself a man if you don't push in the scrum. The play-the-ball is a cop out as all you have to do is take a tackle, stand up and put the ball under your legs - looks stupid! It's not a game if you can't fight for the ball! Also, League is not a popular sport globally because its soooo boring. It's state house rugby with a bit of tacky Australian hype. Aussie Rules is heaps better, faster too! |

I'm a league fan thru & thru but like it or loathe it, out of the 2 macho sports rugby is more world reknown to the rest of the world, has been for the last 100yrs & will continue to do so for a long time coming due to the fact that the codes are obviously similar.
Rugby was marketed better in it's early days therefore the world can only give a toss about one code & couldn't give a toss about league because of it's similarity.
Either way in the big world of sport in America it's the NFL, in Europe & the rst of the world it's soccer. Only in NZ & Wales does rugby dominate & only in the lower class of Sth Auckland & Australia it's league. |

For me, rugby has lost its lustre over the years.
Whether its because the rules are so vague in certain areas, or whether its because I've grown up and realised there are ore important things in life, I'm not sure.
As a spectacle, I think I prefer league these days. The rules are so much more simpler, so I don't have to think too much while drinking my beer.
But I still watch both. |
