Alarm bells are ringing!!!
My husband has just read all these bits & pieces & he cracked up!!
He gave me a cuddle and said if only they knew what a positive cheerful woman you are.
It's a lot like electricity, got to have the positive with the negative, otherwise nothing works!
I think I will stop watching the news, for a while. It's getting to me, too much suffering.
As for the sport, think I will flag that ,too! Too much losing!
I actually think yourself & willy1 styles are quite funny & no doubt very nice young men.
Bye, bye. [I still think jet fuel is going to be an issue]
Oil is $90 something U.S. dollars a barrel.
Still think the poor of the world, matter.

| quick...everyone play inside, don't go outside it might rain, hide your money under the mattress......what you advocating is that NZ Sport is dead, well it is alive and like the sun which comes up every morning, we will recover....we will fight them on the streets , we will fight them on the beaches but we will not surrender, now thats what NZ sport is all about...the journey...not just the destination. |

| Pauline, I would prefer it if you stopped watching the news please, and no you don't have to live in a bubble, you can get outdoors,play bridge, tennis,golf at your age and start being a little more cheery.I have a mother who is 60 odd years old and she is a grandmother too, and I'd be worried if she started telling me the world is all bad, people are all bad,nobody is gettn fed, there's gonna be no fuel soon,NZ is never gonna win anythn again! Alarm bells would start ringing to be honest. |

Ok, Pauline, have it your way, this is the worst year for Sport and it appears to the World that we have dropped our bundles and are pathetic in sport.
Your topic would have been better off titled, "This is the worst year of NZ sport" since that is what your really saying and want us to all accept. Ok you win
As a 60 year old Grandmother who are we to disagree with what you are saying, holding strong opinions here is also about being able to back things up and stand by them and not to get upset just because others express themselves with a strong passion, only reason many have said strong things to you is because they can, you posted we reply, if you don't like the responses don't post a topic you can't stomach.

News & sport. That's where I found out all the results & how the trophies all went to someone else! Plus no jet fuel.Should I not watch the news, do you think, & live in a bubble?

The answer,"Yes it is".
I just gave reasons why we are failing, after often being the best in the world, at most sport.
Sadly, people start being nasty, when others give their opinion, which is not what it is about!
Well done for helping young people with their sport etc.
Let's hope they don't read all this nastiness on here, as young people also need to learn other things.
Only the future will tell if kiwis can play again....any sport. teams are not doing well , but some single athletes are. Valerie, Barbara & the rowing guy. |

| yeah it has but we cnt give up,tobes 95 its cool you do alot with sports and underprevillage youth im in a jets program for rugbyleague coaching young kids from 10yrs to 14yrs with the vodofone warriors teaching them skills and life skills,there is heaps of up and coming players and its achance for former players to give something back its algood bro only 40 coaches were chosen in Auckland and i am very fortunate and humbled to be one of the coaches picked but i think its cool you are giving you time for the youth..good luck bro. |

Pauline i think you watch too much telly,people like you that get depressed about world events should not turn the box on, and no I can't leave my laptop at home as I need it for work. I have loads of manners when it matters, but Pauline this is a message board, where you can write anything and get away with it, so don't take offence.I was being facetious with Barks but it went down like a lead balloon, but you see Pauline you don't know me at all and so don't assume anything. I am not a nasty kiwi in person, and i do alot for underprivileged children, and youth sport so don't go judging a person when you haven't a clue.
You are really generalising abit when you say that all kiwis are mean and nasty, and we haven't got a chance of winning anything in the future, I think that is complete and utter crap!and if you think that is nasty get over it.
P.S. I'm not in Japan for another two weeks and yes some of them are polite but not all i'M AFRAID but there you go generalising again Pauline. |

all you doughters of Nz SPORT heres how it goes England population 70million people,Australia 20million people,SouthAfrica 55million people and NZ 4million people now who are the over achievers?
NZ sport is right up there ,we are the over achievers we had a diasspoiting year in the world cup,Americas cup and just missed on the netball but hey for 4million people we cnt be too hard on ourselves |

Guess what, he said ALL New Zealand sporting teams should be given a D, like a school report. He then went on to say the D should stand for dumb! Now, how lovely is that!! Also harsh, as most of the postings on here are. Cruel- mouthed Kiwis.
Hopefully you will learn some manners in Japan, as they are into being polite!!
[Oh, also saw lots of hungry and poor people, just before Tony Veitch, people from the Bangladesh flooding.]
The only comments I have liked today are from the Aussie and the Pommie.
I can actually tell, from the mean & nasty Kiwis that we haven't got a chance at winning anything in the future.
You have to have character to win.
On sport, also heard ex- silver ferns saying time for the coach to go [even after 86% success rate] see how we are weak charactered people, now?
