| I agree with you on that, the fight should be stoped in the first round but the refery though that he was making Shane a favor stoping the count,he tooke more dangerous and on-necesary punishment with that stupid desicion;that and other inrregularity happens when there is no boxing comission. The boxing Dr. that you have over there should be baned when he allowed Cameron to fight with all his cuts, that was cruel.Shane is a local fighter not a world class one and he fought the real thing,he shoul quit for his own seke! |

| Can remember it like yesterday, march 29th, 1930, those were the days, big mouth american Pete sarron and my favourite boxer of all time, kiwi boy Tommy donovan, can still hear the roar of 18,000 fans at kilbirnie stadium. |

good grief, 'ohmygoshjay', bully for you for being proud of Tua back then on the world stage, well done! You don't think youtube, twitter, facebook etc isn't kinda the world stage? And for someone who can have a chance to get there on YOUR world stage? You've got to admit that like Tyson, people either loved him or loved to hate him, still he was on that stage of yours and so too is Tua. So, fanks batbrain.

| Actually I that tua was a great boxer and had no compunction to support cam at all, I that tua was gonna win and he did . However the if reason he hasn’t fought anyone else and why he got so out of shape escapes you then you really need to educate your self on his career options and failed attempts at heavyweight exposure. |

Banginhot - Wasn't really aiming at you in particular mate, just the term "true NZer" stuck out is all.
As for the disrespect for Cameron. Well to be honest he had to know he'd cop it if he lost - over the years he's said some things (Tua's running scarted etc...) which haven't been easily forgotten by some diehard Tua fans. Even if those things were just to hype the fight or Shane himself, he'd know as a professional that some people would take offense and hold them against him. It's a part of the game. Hell Tua said things as well, but the thing is winners are grinners, and Tua backed his words up in the ring - but if he hadn't you'd be seeing the exact same thing from the diehard Cameron fans. No biggie.
Most BOXING fans (as opposed to just Tua or Cameron fans) have great respect for Shane just for getting in the ring, I especially think we saw what he was made of when he came out for the second round, although I agree that he shouldn't have been allowed to, the fact that he did and wanted to says alot. But Shane is a regional fighter at best, he's really good for boxing in NZ, and I for one hope he continues to fight here and take the sport around the country.
As for the barbarism of the sport and this fight in particular, well it happens, I've seen far worse than that and there'll be worse in the future. It's a part of the sport, the same way the risk of a broken neck at any scrum is just a part of rugby for any prop. IMO the reff was far too slow calling it in the second - he should've ended it at the end of the first - and Reinsfield has a lot to answer for letting Shane come out for the second - I know Shane wanted to carry on, but you have to ask yourself if he was really in the right frame of mind (or any frame of mind for that matter) to make the decision for himself. I wouldn't let my guy back in there no matter what he said after that first round hiding. The one guy you can't put any of the blame on is Tua, he really didn't have a choice in the matte ... |

hehe. newage likes provoking attention. Hes already wound up other posters by making insensitive remarks about Samoans affected by the tsunami in the other forums. Maybe he wants a fake tsunami and a matching fake black eye to hit him. As i mentioned before in the other forum, you should crawl back into your mama's bum young imbecile.
And m-family if you dont have anything constructive to say about these two boxing stalwarts then you should use your time more wisely by making babies with your soulmate newage - together you can call your family the m(ental) - family/sewage-family |
