| Yep i am tending to agree... **quoting GREG MURPHY** the v8 supercars are becoming a YAWN ... watch the qualifying and you know the placings so you can then go home as all they do these days is follow one an other around the track for 50 laps.. i was a big fan travelling to bathurst, indy cars and Hamilton (Hamilton this weekend was boring, i go to watch competition but no one competes any more ?????) |

Motorsports can be quite boring, when you watch it on tv,
but theres nothing more adrenalin pumping than being at a race, watching & listening to the roar of 20-30 V8's thundering past you. Awesome! |

Motorsport is great. I am definitely into open wheel, circuit racing & Road bikes etc but can't really sit & watch Drag racing, stock-cars or NASCAR on TV.
It is the kind of sport that really cannot be fully appreciated without some kind of 1st hand experience either trackside or in the seat.
My wife had the same opinion as the person who started this thread, but after coming to events & witnessing the speed in person I found her getting up at silly hours to watch F1 and wanting to come to the A1GP.
All I can say is get on track to see for yourself. Better yet, strap yourself into a passenger seat & see if it's boring then. |

| Some of you should watch NHRA drag racing. Thats a rush. Takes skill to control 8000 horsepower going to the back wheels without them going up in smoke when the green light goes up. A top fuel dragster can get up to 330mph. Not bad. |

| Motorsports is statistaclly the second most watched sport in NZ.If anyone claims it be boring they must be bored with themself first,so sort it out.The skill that shines through the drivers and riders in situations of danngerous high speeds is testament to what the humanbeing can acheive . | I too agree that the cameras dont do any justice to the speed of motorsport. I am a track marshall at manfeild, and when you are standing a meer three meters from the track, the speed surprizes you, and untill you go for a ride in a v8 touring car, you have more and more respect for the sport and its drivers. I love the sport and voulenteer my services at least two weekends a month. As for crashes they are cool but just the minor ones. I have attended many race car crashes, and the major ones scare the pants off me, well and truly scary. Some people should stop and think that all though crashes are fun, is not fun when the driver gets hurt or even killed ie Peter Brock-Mark Porter. |

Motorsport is awesome. The problem that arises is that the camera doesn't do justice to the speed & danger that these participants have all around them when competing.
I can tell you from experience that competing in a sport where you can potentially die is definitely not boring & beats any other sport I have played hands down including Cricket, Soccer, Rugby and Tennis |
