| Aussie netballers dont get paid anything aside from a daily incidental allowance while they are on tour and a training allowance. Do some research and you will see this is the case. They all have full time jobs, study and some own businesses... |

| Really, the Kiwi girls are paid more than the Aussies? I'd always thought it was the other way around! The Aussies all being millionairesses playing the game professionally and training at their institute of sport, while the poor, noble, humble poverty stricken Kiwi girls had to make ends meet by working a 9-5 job, training only after work and in the weekends. Now are you really trying to tell me that isn't the case? Because my precious world view would be shattered if what you say is really true. |

| yes definitely - they made the huge mistake (aitken) off letting the proverbial foot off the throat of the aussies mid way through last year when in an arrogant move played tutaia ahead of irene and got behind, aussies got a sniff, george pulled her stomach muscle and the psychological advantage was lost, reversed and we need to win the next 2 matches to regain - so play the top line up - play hard and aggressive like the nail biter in the last series when they cocked up the time keeping at the end!!!!! crikey talk about stress |

Hi Paratene,
I agree with you about Tutaia. I have always maintained that Tutaia and from what i have seen Griffin as well really need to work on there defensive game in the mid court. Both are really tall girls but are both just so relaxed about it! They kind of through their arms in the air but don't have any conviction to the game. As an avid supporter of the game i want to see hunger, thirst, absolute savagery to get the ball!

Hi deydey,
I agree with you about poor Paula. To me, i'm sorry but i don;t think she should have been selected. If you look at the Ozzie line up every single one of them would be capable to start the game! In the NZ team Griffin, de Bruin, Bowden, Tutaia i don't think are starters at all! we just don't have a lot of depth on our bench and that is a real concern! Not sure who i would have taken instead of Griffin though! I would not have changed the line up at all last night! i would have stayed with my strongest line up from start to finish! It aleterd the flow of the team and it took them a long time to settle NOT GOOD!

Casey Williams is the mantis, she has easily been the best player in the Ferns. Also agree with the Seymour comment, sheesh does she have some fitness.
The starting 7 against SA is the best 7, they just need to keep the intensity up for the whole game which is where the mental/killer instinct comes in, go for the throat and dont stop till long after they dead, cause you know once Aussie has the throat they arent going to let go.
Fair enough giving players game time just wears a little thin with me when you see a player like Griffin getting sweet F all game time when everyone else is getting a run, I mean why pick a player just to have her in the enviroment, if you pick 12 players then you pick them to play or why bother. Just a pet peeve.
PEACE |

I must say I was very disappointed with Tutaia's performance last night versus SA. She took nearly seven minutes to even attempt a shot, and before that she did two bad passes resulting in a change of possession. She and Bowden did two (each) terrible feeds into the circle. And I HATE how Tutaia drops her bottom lip every time a call doesn't go her way and she just glares at the umpire. GET ON WITH IT WOMAN, put your hands up and start defending! Don't sulk!
Thank the Lord Te Huna has put her hand up and started playing some netball, I hope she can hold her own against Gerrard.
Langman and Seymour have been impressing me, surprising considering my earlier criticism of them both. I still admire Henry over Seymour though, I think. But boy, does Seymour have some stamina and guts!
Player of the match last night? Undoubtedly Casey Williams. She is superwoman!
Looking forward to tonight. :o) |

Are the Silver Ferns falling into the same trap as the ABs by rotating players?? I mean if they put their best team on court all the time and blow teams away then that would be a huge psychological blow for other teams. NZ teams have never really been any good at the psychological warfare side of things. But I must admit they are looking pretty sharp.

| Don't forget the Williams de Bruin combination. Worked well last night - their timing was great and they worked the GA and GS to their advantage. Go Leanna!!!! |

You have every right to feel troubled, the Aussie sports machine has deep financial pockets so the girls are conditioned to win at all costs, they are mentally tough and that beating us is not just a matter of life and death but more serious than that....they feel it is their right and duty to own us and beat us as they have been doing it to us regularly since the beginning of time.
We need to be resilient, mentally centered and not accept that it is our place in life to fold to them or anyone else in any sport, hopefully will give a good account of ourselves and will rise above the coach and TG's fall out to win again and retain our crown, no excuses and just do it. |

Hi there,
Can you believe its day 3 of the Championships! So far so good no unexpected upset losses at this stage all though there have been some very impressive patches in games though. I have just finished watching the ferns and Wales game great to see that Paula Griffin finally got some court time. At this stage of the game i think the only thing that the ferns can take away from both games played thus far is that they have won them both quite convincingly it was a bit of a surprise that the Malawi score was marginally better the Wales. Malawi was 85-26, Wales was like 86-24 or soemthing like that. Started the game with a hiss and a roar awesome! BUT.....i am troubled! Aussie are an well oiled machine and can make changes to the line up which brings another dynamic but the transition is so much smoother than NZ! They have so much depth on their bench unlike NZ! England to some extent have the same luxury in the shooting circle! i was and am very impressed by that young shooter (Harten) shes very tall and moves the circle well and not a bad shooter! I'm not losing faith at all but the girls have a mammoth job ahead of them i hope they can do it!
