7:30 tonight Malawi will feel the bitter sting of the NZ Silver ferns. Tension mounted by all the BULLSHIT in the media about how the OZZIES! are ready! Natalie von Bertouch get a grip mate you don't think the silver ferns are ready either!
Ya know, when ole Norma said that George will be in the team that she just knows she will be. Thinking back now that must have put some incredible tension on Ruth to not put her in the team to prove her wrong! Good strategy Norma it WORKED!!!

I think you need to take into account the defensive style we need to play against McMahon and Cox - and Henry and Williams best fit that. Williams is good for any elevation needed (with the short OZ shooters it doesn't happen to much). Henry plays a great low and flat defensive game - and McMahon and Cox play quick, agile, low and flat attack. Those are not Scarlett's strengths. I was very shocked when she was dropped and I came from the school of thought that her contacts and obstructions were getting in the head of the Australian's but seeing Henry and Williams play has changed my mind. They are a great combo.
I just hope a GA shows up to play in the champs. Te Huna performed in the second game against Australia earlier this year, and fell flat in the other two. Tutaia is inconsistent - she shoots well but several times she literally gives away the ball with her bad passing. |

| I think we need to get real, Adine is not that fantastic, she doesnt bring that much to the team and being the captain isnt about being the best player. Definately think Langman is a WD and they need Bubbie in at C. There problem position is WA and the one who fills that is Adine. All we do is maon about how the Aussie are rough and all this, yes they are but we have known that for years yet we act like it has only just started. As for Scarlett, best choice to leave her out, we have Casey and Jolene and also Sheryl. We need to stop being so down on Irene, its not all her fault if she cant get the ball to shot, part of it is but part of it is the feeders and their pathetic choice of passing. |

| Yes she does, but, she also gets into the aussies heads. They dont know what she is going to do, I dont think scarlett knows what she is going to do either. If she gives away a penalty inside then they were probably close enough to get the goal anyway so she might as well jump all over them. Its the rebounds we want, and she has those super long arms, and the aussies know that if they miss, she or Williams will get it. Hence pressure on the shooters. Thats something your Henry's and Scanlan's cant do as well. So yeah I would like to see her in there. Best players on court, bring in the newbies after we've won the cup. |

| I think for this world champs Ruth should look at her best team not the up and coming youth thay may be good players but don't have the experc yet or the court time such as Griffin and Bowden both good players but i feel they are not ready for this champs. I feel we don't have a strong GA with Jodi & Maria both not yet stepping up to it. i really think we need Scarlett (espally against OZ) she is sooo jumping and bright!Laura is a awesum WD but lacks in the C role.BRING ON THE CHAMPS!go girls :) |

Went back a page, and saw a reply to my last post. Quite honestly, I'm not too fussed if Ruth brought back Temepara very late into the development and if that sent the wrong message. Temepara seems very very popular with the girls' so I can't imagine it would cause too much fuss with them. And the public? With NZ sport going the way it has this year, we should be happy to put forward a team that has a chance of winning whether it be the best thing 'politically' for netball or not. Sure, it's a tad unprofessional but heck, who cares, winning is paramount no? :P
As an aside; my belief is that the argument between Ruth and Temepara occurred when they toured England. Temepara wanted a night out and Ruth said no, it ballooned from there and Temepara left camp and went out anyway. Ruth said if you go, that's it, don't bother coming back. Evidently, she has changed her mind after Temepara did indeed leave, as it hasn't done us any good huh?!
Not that that d***-head Sione Faumuina has helped. Fancy moving your two kids over to Queensland to live with that fruitcake? She moved over to spend more time with him, then he got suspended ( from league ) virtually two weeks after she moved there! For the rest of the season too!! She could have come back and he could have come back with her! But no, they both sat about up there, doing nothing. eugh. grrrrrrr. |

I was really hoping that Temepara would come and take Langman's spot. She's a good WD but she is not a centre. Seymour is past it, I agree, she's just not at international level anymore. I think Bubby is gone for good though, the inside word is she and Ruth had a HUGE argument (despite the denials) - it is all over Netball North Harbour. I wish they'd get over it and move on, for the sake of netball in this country.
If Tutaia or Te Huna perform on the day, and Williams and Henry are at their best we have a shot of winning, despite the crap mid court. (I do think Adine has become a tad predictable of late).
I would never bring back Donna! She is such a prima it is embarrassing to see on the tv, don't you agree?? What a sulker.
I don't have a good feeling about this world champs though, we seem unprepared, we don't have the best team out there that we could have (Temepara!!) and we've lost successively in the build up.
here's hoping though! :o) |
