Lets just get this straight. Rugby is a billion times more physical than netball will EVER be, it's the nature of the individual sports. To compare the physicality of rugby and netball is just rediculous. Yes, netball is becoming increasingly physical, but please, don't even think about comparing the two sports.
I myself can't stand netball, but each to their own. NZ/AUS final for sure. |

| "You'd have to say that a good game of netball rates up there with a rugby match" I don't think so. Rugby is such a more physical sport compared to netball. I mean, yeah the ladies have to run up and down a court and organise tactical passes, but compared to a rugby field with defenders the size of Jonah ready to smash you to the ground, netball just doesn't add up. |

| oh yep! I remember at the last world cup, when babba intercept three times and three times she was called up by the umpire, eventually the umpire had enough of her causing ruckess in play! gave her a yellow card. And of cause the sliver ferns won. I was sitting on the edge of my with "excitement" not because they won, but because the game was so close from start to finish |

| Netball is well worth watching. Sure there are some games that are not as much fun as others but there are those that will have you on the edge of your seat too :) |

I think though that it is just the nature of an evolving sport. It has definately added another dimension to the game in that only the strong will survive.
Yes, the old school style of netball where a team won and lost based on skill has certainly faded but by no means is it gone, instead ...it has brought about another skill set and now that Netball is slowly moving towards a professional sport that new skill set will surface more. I think the game of Netball has thuggish and rough house but...i also think it has had to do this for its survival.
My thoughts anyway, does anyone else have anything to add?

| Yeah, must admit a few years back like every other Kiwi male I might have just watched it for an optic nerve, but I now have to admit I enjoy watching for the speed, skill, and as u mentioned physicallity of the game these days, especially of course OZ vs NZ |

Seriously, is it just me or is it pretty worthwhile watching netball tests?
I reckon it's pretty good sport watching the action on such a small court - not too mention how physical netball has become.
You'd have to say that a good game of netball rates up there with a rugby match - especially the kick it every time you have the ball games! |
