Go Warriors!! No, I mean it... GO, and don't come back until you learn how to play like a team that WANTS to win.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
Stick with Cleary, we just need a bit of luck go our way
On paper we have a great team this year, a bit weak in the centres with no cover for Taite or Roparty but if they hold up we look good. If McKinnon fails to shine early drop him for Locke and hopefully Seymour shows his true class. Go The warriors can't wait for game 1

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
We need consistency, yes we win one game under bluey, Kearney (the World Cup was the most important win ever in our rugby league history) but we have yet to win Bk2Bk or even keep the scores close. We did well in the 4 nations last year but only in the first game where we should have won that first game but again we came up short. I don't think either coach would suit the warriors because we still have the wrong management. To win a comp we have got to have it right from the office right through to the water boy.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
NRL different kettle of fish, no matter where bluey goes , he's successful bro, can't deny that, bluey ain't a soft ass coach like cleary, he will cull loose baggage and dead weight players, he don't take s**t from nobody

kiwis beat aussie 24/0 when bluey coached kiwis, and bennett was aussie coach, give him a chance g, you never know.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
I think that steven kearney would make a good warriors coach, he played for the warriors for years and was a solid player himself.

I would like to point out the fact the hes a would cup winning coach, along side wayne bennet. but did bennet take a shine off a great head coaches success..? In any case he deserves to coach as much as any.

I really think iro i think would be a third option with bluey Mclennan the 2nd.

Bluey has had success in both international and in super league his win rate is one of the best ever seen. However the NRL is different kettle of fish..

Im dreading to see what clearys third season will be like..is it a case of had your turn..@#%$ off or third time lucky..?

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
Anderson was/is a good coach.. his demise was due to a bunch over over paid sooky players that didnt like being told to shape up or ship out...

The fans and the managment stood by this so called senior players group and what was left was a culture of losers and scared yes men coaches.. ala Ivan Cleary

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
banin hot - They need someone with NRL experience a good coach someone who is use to a wining formula and a higher wining percentage then some of our previous coaches, AND we must stop running training programs for people to coach at the NRL level.
Here are the facts:

95 -97 John Monie 50%
97 - 98 Frank Endacott 39%
99 - 2000 Mark Graham 36%
2001 - 2004 Daniel Anderson 55%
2004 - 2005 Tony Kemp 35%
2006 - present Ivan cleary 51%

in our history we have only 1 coach with any Rugby League experience in the NRL level and that was John Monie all the others have been "wannabees" NRL coaches. why does our management continue to hire "wannabees" you combine that with all the s.h.i.t players we've recurited its obvious and we have bad management.

interesting to note that Daniel anderson accomplished a higher winnig percentage in 3 years then cleary has in 4. i don't undersatnd why cleary is still the head coach with stats like that. we need someone of experienece they should of gotten Wayne Bennett when he was looking. ask mel manenga, somebody with good NRL experience.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
aj - kearney for warriors coach 2011???? not sure if he's a good fit and he still not proven his ability of coaching a natioanl side let alone an NRL team...but your logic makes sense and i know the warriors would snap him up if he ever chose to come home. cleary's last chance this year, if our season starts to stink early on..... then it could be all over for cleary..

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
Mason will only bring 1 thing & that is trouble!!!!....like you say different strokes for different folkes...and all opinions are welcomed...we still have Price for 2010 and there are a lot of quality players coming onto the market for 2011....lets hope the management use the war chest from Price, Tate, Luck & Lilyman wisely and bring us a premiership in 2012 under Kearneys coaching.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
Still say its not a good move to sign him.....he isnt the right fit for the club and his off field dramas arent worth the hassle.....its a big NO for me!....give Packer more game time & bring on James Gavet this year.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
i'm a big fan of willie coming to play for the warriors and it would be good for willie to be out of australia and he can concentrate on getting back to some form that won him the "clive churchill" medal he won in 2004. but in saying that i'm not sure we have the right coaching staff and management to get the best out of willie in a warriors jersey.

hopefully willie does come and does well for us in NZ.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
I wouldn't mind seeing mason play for the warriors, couldn't do any worse, when price leaves he would be an ideal replacement as mentioned, he has what the forward pack is missing,, size and mongrel, so yeah i'd snap him up if he was avalible

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
I know that not many people like the guy but im just entertaining the idea of the warriors snapping up big Willie mason, i know hes had some problems with a few other clubs, but what is better of a way to get away from all the influences of old and come to NZ. He would look mean a-rse in a warriors jersey and he has that mongrel the warriors have been missing with a bit of height and brawn other than Russell packer and big benny.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
what we need is to revamp our coaching and management staff thats where our problem lies. I only hope we play well in 2010 and get some mongrel like we've been missing for so many years.
