not really kaneio

he's just decided to go against league tradition and kick downfield instead of 5 metres downfield and 20 rows into the stands.

must admit. it's been great to see someone finally do it. watch them all copy him now.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
we were boasting their chances after the first two wins. kind of disappointed after the heavy loss to the broncos, lamented at the lost chances against the rabbits. But by then there's still positives.
right now i just hope that the injured players can return onto the footy field soon. Their importance was highlighted immensely in those three losses. Not saying that the guys playing right now didn't do their best, but it's hard when you lose several vital players from the squad.
we complain when they lost, because we are entitled to, especially when there's a 3 game losing streak going on. We want them to improve, since our expectation on them were high after last year's performance. I would love them to win, and there's always room for improvement.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
its interesting that every year pretty much we get upset about something the Warriors and there failures its almost a tradition, its scary.

Imgaine if they were 5-0 even with all our injuries, i know we're not but would we ne still complaing at 5 - 0?

I do agree, that we should not be 2 - 3 , there were 2 games we should of won, last week and the knights game.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
kemp is not getting enough balls on the fringes to be a constant threat. We need to improve on the distribution skills and give him more balls. He had shown to be a quality attacker when given a chance and space.
What are we missing from our lineup that's different from last year? Price, Vatuvei, Hohaia, Tate, and WIKI. Two top class props and three strike weapons. McKinnon played well, but Ah-van is not the same class as tate yet, kemp did not get enough balls, and packer is still learning in my opinion. However, those experiences in the early stages will be vital come playoff time.
why is kemp pairing up with ropati? i thought he's a right winger

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
im not 100% behind your comments their darryn, but am heading in that direction.
we can't keep waiting for Steve Price to come back and provide direction. will he stop all the dropped ball and defensive errors/misjudgements.
maybe Cleary needs to take the handbrake off and risk players like solomona and o'reagan. get some flair and excitement out there.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
This not much to say we have lost 3 in a row, a far cry from the expectations of all kiwi's.

And once again im hearing people say..Sh-it house warriors they will never change. And quite frankly im starting to lose faith in their abilitys too.

They have had more than enuf fire power, possession, and footy at the right end.

They have also had enuf of our faith, its time they start to look at them selfs in the mirror and work out how much their country means to them, cause at the moment we are all feeling faithless and disgruntled.

Time to get tough on the boys, cause this is unacceptable.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
ok we are 2wins and 3 losses from 5 games, is it time to panic? or are we still hanging on to hope that it will turn around.

Me personally thinks we're doing alright, tables still close, no team has stamped there authority yet, we're not the only ones struggling.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
cheers mt mate. I was not sure at all about that one.
You think he favors Cpt.kirk..? Hes a good player but im yet to see any real x-factor with him. But it was great to see him run the field for and intercept try last year in the finals against the roosters, man what a game that was aye, we need to play like that, or just have lance back to score another double like he does most games.

Malo good under the high ball, but i would prefer kirk there just because he has more exp.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
i know this aint about the warriors boys but i started a league comp in the class i teach (Year 5 +6 kids, 9-10 year olds) they have to work out the points for and against for each team every week, including the differential, look at recent win-loss records and use all the mathematical data to make predictions. we record their results on a huge chart.
THE KIDS LOVE IT. i've got kids who don't like sport watching the NRL and talking about games on Monday & Tuesdays, matching their picks with the results.

rocks hard boys....

Go the warriors. turn it all around this week guys.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
and darren mate i think your right about my man Malo, but doesn't Manu do the same, anyway he still deserves a 2nd chance; at least he's taller then aiden kirk and he's good under the high ball.

Anyway hope he gets a shot sooner rather then later.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
Hey darren,

bit of history, when they had the reserve grade competition of the NRL a few years ago and after cleary finished up with the warriors he took up coaching the roosters reserve grade where he won there grand final a few years ago. when he was offered the assiatnt coach job for the warriors under kemp who got the nodd after daniel anderson left to be the kiwi coach.Ivan said yes,i knew when that happened kemps days were numberedand sure enough, kemp got the boot and cleary got the job even though kemp had only finished 1 year of a 2 year contract (kemp was definately out of his league as an NRL head coach) ivan brought over from the roosters when he took the warriors job were,Grant Rovelli,Aiden kirk and a couple of others.

and that is the reason kirk is still there and not michael witt

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
I dont think we need to panic its the NRL and teams that win this comp time there runs rite. Its going to be a tight comp this year and if we can base our self in the top 6 for the first half and then wind up for the secound half i think we will be alright.Id rather a few injurys now than in round 26,lets just hope all the boys will be fit and firing ready for the finals.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
I think it is because of the last games solamona played. He was found coming in off the wing not numbering up and caught in no mans land.

Cleary from roosters mt...? He played for the warriors for years one of their biggest points scorer.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
i think poching played in the prerseason games, and why isn't Malo solomona getting a shot after the poor performance by aiden kirk. i know he's only in there cause he's come from the roosters with Ivan Cleary.

Camon Ivan, solomona would've run down talanoa or covered that kick rather then tackle him without the ball and give the buunies a penalty try.

I would like to see rusty and (mataupu pooaching( come into the mix. Mind the spelling

You right, fien is a lucky dip you never know if you are going to like his suprizes most of the time. Lillyman lost in action...? Maybe, im thinking his a tackler more than a ball runner, but either way im not to impressed with him either.

Re:Go Warriors! Reply to this message
Coach Cleary has some difficult calls to make. He needs to settle on a halfs combination that works and can guide the team around the paddock. Given Tait is out now I would not mind seeing Moon move to centre given that he doesnt appear to be a playmaker - he looks good with ball in hand so getting him one wider is an option. Frodo can play in the halfs possibly or even Fien however after yesterdays game not sure if that is the best option. Lilleyman has not really impressed yet - he seems to be Missing in Action alot. Matalino will slot back in soon and will provide more punch - we certainly need it. The young fella Likiliki has impressed in the Toyota cup - maybe too early for him but he maybe an option at centre.

Early days still but we need a settled line up with the halves and hookers firing - we were let down by the guys in these positions yesterday even given that Souths defence was outstanding..
