| its definately going to be the best world cup so far any way, although i dont quite understand the draw. NZ,england and Aussie all in the same pool. I think they mite get a second chance or something? tonga and samoa have named exceptionally strong squads, gonna be some pretty epic battles |

i think manu, jerome and matai are all in kearneys site
just read newspapers, watch sports news, talk to your neighbour, google up a team name, you'll get all the info you need bro,i come on here and found out pritchard was having eoy surgery before it was on the news, same with matai,i think hes unavailible anyway, just playing the season out, mason will be in roos team, over rated or not |

nah it hasnt been named bro
but you can pretty much pick whos gonna be there if you havent been watching nrl or early morning games of sl,there'll be surprises and bolters, but nothing to suggest anything ground shattering, the players practically pick themselves |

| I totally agree with these players being eligable for island teams but there are a quite a few players that i would have picked in the kiwi team, just wondering if they have opted to play for the islands or if they have been told thay wont make the kiwi team? in particular manu vatuvei, jerome ropati, ali lauititi, steve matai. i also noticed willie mason in the tongan squad |

| i mean,if the aussies arent using a guy like antonio kaufusi, then he should be allowed to play for tonga if he chooses,if thomas leuluai isnt considered for kiwis,i wouldnt mind seeing him pull on samoan jersey, this is what id love to see, scotland has ian henderson, james mcmannus adam macdougall and keith galloway in their prelim squad, this is gonna be a awesome tourny,i know a few might disregard it,weak teams and all that, but from most squads named so far,its pretty exciting to me!!,poor league admin leadership,no rlwc since 2000,all that, stuff that, its about the now,so i reckon the arl/nrl should just open it up |

josh.
make it an open slate i say
if certain island born players arent availible for either nz or aus, then i reckon they should be allowed to rep their birth nation etc, call it 'special dispensation gone wild' just make it an open and fair slate for all teams,i dont see no reason why ex aus or kiwi players wanting to play for their birth nations,i say bring it on,isnt winning a world cup about beating the best teams in the world? if the aussies are as good as they say they are,i dont see no reason why they shouldnt be allowed to pick their own countrymen,it'll be good for league all round |

| has any one seen the prelimanary squads for tonga and samoa? quite a few possible kiwi and australian internationals in the squads...good for the game but theres basically a 17man kiwiteam in those squads. Whats going on? can someone shed some light on this? |

i think theyre 25 man squads
te'o,yip,i opted for him in one of my earlier thread teams, but got shot down by a samoan claiming te'o had opted for samoa, how right they were, and good on him!! |

| Ben Te'o would've made the Kiwi's if he didn't opt for Samoa, he's the man, he reminds me of Reni Maitua when he first hit the scene. |

(kearney will pick a team completely different to ours)
true that bro!!
he'll probably go for leuluai over roberts, but if he wants a dose of realism from the fans point of view, then i suggest he get 1 of his cronies to check these sites out,we have more realistic talks about the kiwi players and teams then the nzrl does!! |

Roberts has discipline issues but he has a good running and passing, left boot can be handy on it's day.
How many players are being picked? 22? |

| if ben roberts does enough in the next few weeks, maybe i'll be convinced of a bench spot for him,but after you suggested we need forwards,i looked at my bench and thought wtf!?,i aint even got no back up prop for lima and asotasi,i'll be keeping my eye on sam rapira, fui fui, adam blair or jesse royal when he returns from injury |

| gotta have a doggie there mate haha. think roberts can inject something from the bench. he is a good runner and also has a great left boot, if needed. cayless, yeah i was iffy but i think his experience alongside asotasi in the early stages would definitely help the boys. and once hes done his 15 or so throw in lima to kick it another gear. |

i also saw you had pritchard,he wont be there either!!
i think both of them are having end of year surgery? well i definitely know pritchard is,dunno bout matai? |

sa at 6 sounds a goer
he played their against the dogs and got a beaut try fending maitua off on the way to the line didnt he?
i think that was him?,either way,the halves is our achilles heel at the mo,it wouldnt surprise me if kearney goes for leuluai again? |

Not just your halves combo bro, I think any halves combo we field will be dodgy. Benji is probably gonna be the 6, but lets face it there is no one stepping up to claim the 7 jersey since Stacey. If they did put Benji at 7, then I would put Sa at 6, I dunno bout Webb or any other NH based players making the cut but could be wrong Webb could carve at 6 on his day.
Guess my point is our halves will be our weak point yet again. |

i know my halves combo sounds dodgy, but i suppose,to win this rlwc, you have to pull something of an x factor out of the bag somewhere? i think,by moving webb to #6,it'll provide the team with more attacking spark seems benjis always hobbling on one knee? your right in that it'll probably be fien and rangi chase in their somewhere,as well as ben roberts, but i reckon its worth a shot, especially with our 2 best forward strike weapons gone(pritch, sbw)
webb has speed to burn,a little small but so was stacey? |
