Finally, everyone agrees on something,
Yes I too agree that this a great thing, they are finally putting thier hand up as well as thier hand in their pocket and owned up to not following the right path...Its a shame that it has all been dragged through the dirt, and I do feel sorry for SBW as I honestly believe that the powers that be have hyped this all up to up the profile of the player and the game...
All the best SBW and gonna miss those big shoulder charges that you are known so well for, and I believe i speak for most League supporters as those charges will never be seen again... |

| How the tides have tuened, Toulon didnt play Sonny on the field in yesterdays game, and now the President is talking of paying out the Bulldogs, So much for not recognising the Australian Courts, what a load of B/S , makes you wonder if they did it on purpose to raise the interest value in the ongoing Saga of SBW |

Sonny Bill could face jail for contempt
AAP - August 14, 2008, 1:10 pm
Runaway rugby league star Sonny Bill Williams has again failed to appear in a Sydney court, making him potentially liable to a jail term for contempt.
Court staff called Williams' name twice in the hallway outside the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday, and got no response.
Barrister Arthur Moses, who is acting for the Bulldogs NRL club, told the court that Williams and his manager Khoder Nasser had been served with orders to attend.
"The first defendant and the second defendant were notified of the listing today," Mr Moses said.
"It would appear at this stage there is no appearance." |

Seems to be moving forwrd slowly doesn't it,
The Bulldogs will find out just hours before Sonny Bill Williams' proposed rugby union debut if they have been successful in gaining the injunction needed to block his defection from the NRL.
Williams' signing with French club Toulon has been made official, the former Kiwi Test star agreeing to a one-year deal with an option for a second season.
This despite having four years left on his contract with the Bulldogs.
NSW Supreme Court Justice Robert Austin granted leave for lawyers to serve documents to associates of Williams as substitutes, following failed attempts last week to serve the runaway rugby league star directly.
"The judge ruled today that because he's evaded (being served with the subpoena) for so long he's obviously doing it for a reason, and we can have what is called substitute of service which means you can put it onto someone else," Bulldogs chief executive Todd Greenberg said.
"We're now serving the subpoena via text message via the Toulon club and via his address in Sydney.
"The idea is that we go back into court Friday morning seeking an injunction, and then if he decides to play in the face of the injunction then he can be up for some serious penalties."
The Bulldogs and the NRL are hoping to have an injunction in place before Williams's proposed debut against Hyeres on Friday night, early Saturday morning Australian time.
The lawyer acting for the NRL, Tony O'Reilly, said the legal teams were happy with the result in court, claiming Williams had left them with no alternative.
"People who don't have anything to hide are usually easy to serve," O'Reilly told reporters.
"We've spent a lot of time and effort and a lot of long nights dealing with ... trying to find out where he is."
Williams is due to emerge from hiding in the next couple of days, Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal claiming the new signing would be at Hyeres' Stade du Pyanet ground in some capacity Friday ... |

| Shame to see that the NRL are considering siezing assets. Do they consider assets he bought for family as part of that. Gallop is in damage control mode and like you have said, what happened to his last weeks threat. I can't remember any other time the NRL "boss" has intervened in any club issues, in fact he has in the past stated that club issues are not his or the executive's problem. |

that guy could buy the bloody bulldogs on his own. Hope SBW comes to an agreement with the doggies, his new boss pays them one year of his contract, this year, and they do a deal for him to be able to get on with his life.
How many times have we heard a club CEO say something along the lines of "We've got a guy who simply isn't happy here, and it's in everyones best interests to let him go. We wish him well" with SBW..."he'll be arrested, we'll freeze his assets, he's signed a contract, the contract is watertight...etc" FFS! who did he kill? |

| Well now things are getting interesting,They cant find SBW so they gonna be serving the papers else where,And I see SBW has signed a contract for one season with Toulon, Does this now mean the Big Wigs at Toulon now have to pay out SBW's contract with the Bulldogs or will it be swept under the carpet. |

Hey ajofbrisbane, not to sure about that NRL ON FOX but will have to keep an eye out for it, Sounds like they all after their piece aye.An possible way to fix it would possibly be something like SBW plays the remainder of this Season if both parties are willing for this to happen, that way SBW can at least say bye to his mates at the Bulldogs and go away knowing he did the best he could with his head held high.at the completion of the season he becomes a free agent and can move in which direction he chooses.
As for the changes in the Cap, yeh that sounds like it may happen, but at what possible cost, I recall them saying in the news a while back that the sydney based clubs are struggling due to taxes being raised on income from gambling, thats a bit sucky aye seems all the Govt wants to do on both side of the tazzie are tax tax tax???
Yeh mate, good yakking with ya 2. good to know there are a few of us out there that voice somethings and not get personal about it. :-) |

| Good on ya SBW: get the hell outta there if you're not happy with the environment. Of course the move is about the dollars but then he wont be no slave to the NRL, like the other slaves in the NFL, FiFA, no voice, no power..day in and day out, summer and winter, your life will never be your own, they pharkin own you. Go to France, play rugby, smell the roses, feast on escargo or langoustine but dont forget the corn beef and taro bro.... |

Hey Jack......dont know if you get a program called NRL ON FOX over there but....it had SBWs so called manager (before Nasser)on it last night and he was saying that they are looking at legal action as SBW never terminated their services.....only after the money mate....it may have been that SBW was lead down the path at contract time and was too young to have a get out clause inserted.....experience and hindsight are both wonderful things. Whatever happens I believe that there will be changes in the cap and SBW wont go to jail.....the NRL have misssed the boat and only now are trying to catch up and make a scapegoat out of him.
Nice yakking with ya. |

Yes I suppose actions speak louder then words in a way I agree with what SBW has done, But in another way I dont, Isnt it funny how his agent or ex agent doesnt seem to have alot to say, like I said in my first comments, why didnt his agent negotiate an out clause in the 5 year contract when it was first discussed, I mean hey thats waht Gasnier has got with the Dragons and nothing can be done about that,
Dont get me wrong I dont blame SBW directly, and yes he has to look out for himself, but there is way to do it and a way not to, and it looks like SBW's advisers have pointed him down a long path to his new career without a get out of jail pass..
I for one am gonna miss the SBW factor in the NRL.. |
