agree dachiropractor, i would love to see the international level grow another leg.
need teams like, south africa, USA and european teams touring NZ and vise versa.
they need to bring back the touring, where any international team would tour for 2-3 weeks visiting small towns and playing league, id pay good money to see any of those games. |

| Rugby League is the third highest profile winter sport in Australia. It has the highest attrition rate amongst it's players and their earning potential is rated fourth, behind AFL, Rugby & Soccer. That's why league players are leaving to play rugby. |

just saw this after a few weeks,
h steven, i do coach a small team of kids, thanks anyway.
i just don't like rugby stealing our players there are plenty of RUGBY players in NZ why steal the league players in aussie.
The reason is our league players are superior athletes compared to rugby.....Brad Thorn said once that the chubbys play rugby and the fit guys play League....he should know and oh yea he plays for the all blacks!.
Good to hear you support both codes! and its funny roosters also steal players as they can't seem to get any good ones of there own....well at least they don't steal from rugby!

Everytime a rule in league is changed its for the safety of the players......everytime rugby rules are changed its to speed the game up.....
Conclusion: our game still better!! doesn't matter what those idiots say in those commentary boxes! |

| For all you people saying how the IRB cant make up there mind on improvement in rules for use in union at least they are trying to improve them unlike league. All you hear in league games are the aussie commentors saying how the rules needed to be changed and how bad the game has become. I never seen a league game where the commentator does not moan about the rules. And a quote from a commentator in the weekend "supposibly this is the best game in the world" |

| why do league supporters have this false sence of injustice toward there so-called 'stars' joining union? Lets face it apart from billy wizz they havent exactly set the international arena alight! They usualy come back to league in a couple of years anyway! Like a true northener i do like a bit of league,but much pefer to play and watch union as it's a more skillful and exciting game, especially in the pack with proper scrums and tactical plays in the rucks and mauls.I think the reason why league players dont cross-over well to union is because they dont have the tactical kicking skills that union requires but make up for it hand speed.In league you can get away with being just a strong runner(dwain chambers),lol, but in union you need to be more compleate player what ever position you play.If you disagree join your local union side and see for yourself. |

yes there are some in the Rugby League decision making parts that should of been Fired by now!!
we've got a great game to promote around the world and we've just started to do what they should of done 10years ago.
got a good game but got useless people running it. |

weak leadership??? international rugby league held a world cup in 1995 - the next one was in the year 2000, now then 8 years later its finally come back..
a bit inconsistent dont you think??
league is awesome to watch no doubt .... but why is it when something goes wrong league always refer to rugby about this and that???
you never hear rugby people falling all over the place trying to convince the world its a better sport do ya?? maybe if the league fraternity in nz stood together and tried to get league up and going in this country then everthing would be good... but look what they did to the bartercard cup... |

lol rugby league do not play under the same rules. The NRL and Super League have different rules and than the international rules are different as well LOL!!
Differences in NRL rules to Super League
a) The NRL do not appear to have to have both feet behind the 10m line at the play-the-ball, whereas Super League you must.
b) The NRL defence can strip a ball with two men in the tackle whilst the attacker is in the process of scoring a try, we can't.
c) The NRL are playing 10 interchanges, Super League 12.
d) In the event of a draw after 80 minutes the NRL are playing extra time with the "Golden Point" rule.
Its only a matter of time before rugby is played under the same rules again. League however will never!!!

| I only started to watch Rugby Union when i migrated to NZ in 1991 and got hooked on it rite away, really very enjoyable to watch until recently. Over the last 1 to 2 years i find that a REF can really determine the outcome of a match and this shouldnt be!!Some of them Ref's really make the once exciting game with full of running, linebreaks, big hits etc etc..dull and boring!!!so Booooo~~ to IRB, Paddy & whoever else is associated |

about time the NRL had its pants pulled and @r$e smacked in front of everyone.
How many years did they offer players peanuts. Not only to converts, but to their own players. (leaguies) Ridgey signed for about $25K plus match payments and grabbed it because rugby offered nothing. Now the shoe's on the other foot. The NRL have refused extra payments for players outside the salary cap from sponsors.... the grass (or money) is greener.. watch them all jump the fence. |

i've always known that the IRB was a joke, they have done some stupid things including some of the new rules to try and catch up with the speed of league but other issues during the rugby world cup they have failed to resolve.
Now they say they will not get involved in this SBW matter, of cause not, why should they, they have a bunch of nobody's playing a "touch-pause-engage in sleep" game. they can't develop there own kids they gotta steal league players to try and lift there failing code.
I continue to be proven right that these members are full of idiots who wouldn't know a good idea if it was spelt out to them in capitals.
