| watched the replay and it didnt even look like he gave the finger, just the fist. Maybe he just shoul of abused the ref and got marched 10 metres |

| just watched the Sunday footy show, they talked about this incident and from the sounds of it it was the review board that came up with this not the ref,The guy was just letting off some steam after a bad call had been made against him, WTF should he hit the ref next time???? |

I think Archer made the wrong call but what Hodges did was wrong but a penalty or warning would have been enough.
I think Refs are getting to personal with the players they need to start calling them by there Jersy numbers again, I also think they should penalise anyone that rushs up to them to state a point if they arnt the captain of the team. |

| Sets a pretty harsh precident from now on dosent it. Anyone else that offends the ref with a gesture that they dont like gets 2 weeks, no penalty, no sinbin no warning just 2 weeks off. |

im not advocating that people get away with this but like any good ref (im one of them)id say not needed consider yourself warned and give the penalty.
i don't say 2 weeks suspension, then send him to anger management, maybe meet with his family to explain why little hodgoh did the fingers, maybe its a national issue, maybe we need to change our school structure, maybe, maybe, maybe.............WTF
IT WAS JUST THE FINGERS, for goodness sake not worth all this BS of 2 weeks. its not like he walked out on his contract to play rugby!! |

| Dude, I think 10 mins in the sin bin with a warning is enough for saluting the referee, especially when some of the careless tackles people get reported for, gets a result like a slap on the hand with a wet flannel. |

| I have reffed kids sports and I agree that refs have to be respected and if they did it to me, wouldve sat him down for 10 minutes, and if they wanna continue then its an early shower. Why not deal with it right there and then. |

two weeks is fair..
ref kids sports and see if you like it when the little kids start doing it to you , set an example..
not too into abusing the ref though. yep they get it wrong but i doubt that any of us could do better , not as easy as it looks.
but feel free to abuse the video ref, not sure what there excuse is for getting it wrong. |

I think 2 weeks is fair enough.
Players should respect the ref and having harsh penalties in place make sure of this. |

| So what would have happened if he did it to the video referee, The game is getting alittle pc,in the heat of the moment people will react when they feel they got a bad call.. should have been a warning and then left at that. I mean Hodges could have gone and punched the Ref like that island boy did in the In the FIJI cup??? or the Samoan cup ,I'm not quite sure which one it was... Players get a warning on a dangerous tackle get a warning and then can turn up for the next game, |

Can we all agree that Justin Hodges from the broncoes (i give details because not all who read these threads understand rugby league) with the 1 finger salute to referee tony archer is not worth 2 weeks, a warnig is the maximum you'd give.
thats a rediculous suspension for what i believe is what we all do as fans to the officials that make stupid decisions and cost clubs games. |
