| Dunno bout that one "cherri" Samoa v Oz the final, Theres only 3 teams that play intl league consistantly year in year out. Kiwi's, Oz and GB (tri nations), what international has Samoa won lately......have they even played one. Sure theres alot of ex internationals but they havent played as a team yet against anyone. Good luck to your team but its a long shot that they will finish anywhere above 4th. Kiwis are the best hope to beat Ozzy'z who will likely win the comp easily. |

The kiwis will finish higher because there are only really 3 teams that play international league on regular basis .. why dont we see the polynesian teams playing australia and nz ??
There is only one team that will win the league world cup and thats the auzzies but im hoping the kiwis can get up and beat them !!! |

Legue for me without any doubt is a better spectator sport. |

| My Dad used to say, "Rugby is everymans game because you dont have to be built like a fkn tank across the paddock. Theres the position for short fat fellas and the tall timber and even little minnows at half." Thats what makes it our game and always has. Theres parity! And Fk the WC. I dont give a dam. I love the game and thats that. Bit sad if your just hanging around for the WC anyway in my view...its the journey baby and anyone who stands behind a team, albeit coming in 7th and regardless of them not winning is a sure sign that 'this countrys game is the 15 man code. STILL STRONG! Dont get me wrong though, the NRL is a great game too but hell , it aint our countrys and never will be. |

speaking of league on Sky, when are they going to give Monty Betham a regular gig as a comments man for the main games. He makes sense, describes how things actually happen, as opposed to simply shouting into the microphone what we can already see for ourselves.
He's already heaps better than the guys they have now. |

im with m family, dont talk about how important to provincial is thats BS, ask tasman and northland rugby gaurantee they will disagree with you.
League is a better product then rugby by a land slide no matter that we're the only country in the world that gives a toss about this dufus game and we're not even the world champs oh yea we finished 7 spot, knocked out by a country that supports soccer more then rugby.
league has always been a workmans game while rugby has always been a "blue collar" tossers game. The other guy is right the more popular it is the more telly it will get but i still say put all your rugby on the rugby Channel, and judging by some of your "rugby supporters" you shlould be quite happy to pay extra to watch your beloved game.
More league please!!! |

| Its all bout the money. Sky has poured a bucket load of money for the rights to show the ANZC. This being said they are not going to drop that to show League. If they had poured that kind of money into the League rights then of course they are going to play the League as opposed to the rugby. As it stands, I like watching the Rugby then then league, I dont see the issue as there is a delay because of the time diffrence. Your going to have to wait regardless. In NZ rugby rules the roost and it always will over League. When League dominates and can be marketed and generate revenue like Rugby, then and only then will you see more League on the airwaves. |

at least the Kiwis will finish higher in the world cup then the abs dach, and thats with only the NRL comp.
I feel sorry for rugby players that have to work up through grasroots, provincial,and super14, knowing that 7th is as far as they will get in the WC. By all accounts only two teams could actually win the last RWC, apparently NZ wasnt one of them |

yes steven, thats was a bad decision by the NZRL for not doing more for the game in this country including the Bartercard, i suppose its about money and how far you can stretch a dollar. thats why i believe the NZRL board need to be replaced by rich b usiness men looking to grow the sport and get more money for the game.
I would rather watch bartercard over super or is that sleeper 14. |

| More seagulls turned up at local Bartercard matches that were televised a couple of seasons back if i recall,was'nt bad footy though,Was that a local provincial comp..?.If it was,didn't the NZRL promote that well.NOT...!. |

| Why should the majority of rugby lovers have to pay more money for the rugby channel when they already pay for sky1 and 2 sport for minnow sports like fkn golf. Screw that, im a working man and the less people put into skys bank account the better. Its a democracy right? Lets face it the Rugby channel is about niche programming and so called giving us more of what we want but when they start shoving tests into the 'pay more for a look' option we will all be losers! Less is more!!! |

why do you waste your time on a League thread, if you're that into your ruggers (which in my opinion along with cricket is the most un-inspiring games to watch and play i say this nicely because there are a few ruggers fans who actaully have something worth reading on these threads unlike your comments)you should be on the rugby thread, you will not get sympathy here.
da d angel is correct more league,end of story don't you get it, i want more league. and as for your comments about provincial rugby means more to the average NZ, you might want to try and convince Northland and Tasman who have been dropped from the ANZ cup (not that i give a shyte)
but seriously, under 20 league game in ozzie is much more interesting to watch then even the all blacks, seriously. The ANZ cup is a joke, all the rich clubs get to stay all the poor ones get the shafted, theres your story for your ruggers thread pip.
As for SBW, i can tell you now he will not be an all black now or in the future, how many foregn players in a french team(exception of DC who is allowed to come back) have been picked for the all blacks ahhh that would be zero.
When sonny grows up he will realise he has made a big mistake.

| get a grip da deadly angel whats wrong with watching one game and the another one delayed .As for putting more of the under 20s games on why? .Provincial rugby means more to the average new zealander than the run it get tackled five times and kick it and hope they drop it game between two ozzy clubs .but u should be able to see SBW playing on ss1 7.30 sat night in a black jersey in a couple of years hes seen the light u could to one day yeah right |

| cricket should not even be watch, blacks capz are not even playing... put the both league games on at the same time not on delayed, use sky sport 2 and 3.... f-duck the provincial rugby game..... they dont even play the under 20's league games as much.... |

the only real problem I have is that one day the league is on sky sport 2, another day it's on sport 3, then a game might be on sport 1. apart from that i think they do a pretty good job.... except for the commentary team perhaps. |

and yes i can explain why sonny was dropped because he needs rest, and he kept dropping the ball during the rabbits game. now he's injured while playing under 20, he just needs a rest, hes young.
they need to drop luaki for another prop from 20 or wairangi koopu, give some gusto back in our hitups! |
