Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
I have been to Sonny Bill Williams, Tana Umaga and Jerry Collins territory in Toulon. Man I really can't imagine why any professional rugby player wouldn't want to live there. The place is fantastic, weather, food, beer, wine and women fantastic and has a great transport network to anywhere on the South of France or Italy. Go SBW and kiwi's.

First shop I saw when arriving was the clubs sport shop and a bigger than life size banner of Tana.

he will learn from tana - and learn from the experience of playing different opposition week in week out:):) tana knows more than most of the players playing in the european cup - mainly because hes beaten them with the all blacks more than often...

thats why sonny went there in the first place:):) lol

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
If NZ wants to win another world cup, and they can, and I wish, people should start to think out of the square... and ABs allowed to have a professional life and experience in Europe. S B W is not only going to learn from Tana but from french top 14 and European cup, it should be an advantage for him and he will be a better player with the ABs...the world is bigger than NZ...

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
dachiropractor17- Id probly see him going to hurricanes rather than blues, because he is coached by tana and jerry also plays for toulon so they will probly encourage him to go there. Smith will have to fight him for his spot but my beat would be on hurricanes.

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
Mate I think if sonny wants to be an ALL BLACK he will be with a great teacher in Tana Umaga best centre we have had in many a year.. he will sort that tackling thing out he is talant and it should be wasted at all. All the best to him he will find his feet in the rugby game I am sure he is young and got plenty of years ahead of him... As for we have plenty of talant coming thru??? yeah we do have talant but do we have talant anywhere near what sonny has to offer rugby and the world. how many centres or second-fives have we been thru in last 24months?? 5 or 6. He is one of ours so grab a hold it and don't let them slip thru the kraks. If brad thorn can adjust to the rugby code so can SBW I say. Give him a chance and see what developes. Go hard or go home

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
Every talent was given by God and we've got to utilize in its fullest, I think SBW is doing that and there is nothing can stop someone from doing so, so what happened to the Australian judiciary now? Would they be able to stop him from playing rugby union....(lots of useless talks), no I don't think so...why? because it is a God given talent...so go SBW...

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
I would just like to send a message to the NRL about Sonny Bill Williams.
Not so many years ago it was ok for league to steal union players with large sums of money.

Now they have there noses out of joint because the boot is on the other foot.

Let the man play what he wants to play

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
No disrespect, but if Sonny is paying all that money toward accomodating his immediate family and the cousins in the big flash fale in Sydney, then there's no wonder why he's escaped to play sport in another country. They need to learn to live off their own incomes instead of his, looking at the pictures of him leaving Australia for France - man those were some sad looking photos, isolated outcast....... But what the hell, "Money talks baby" and hopefully he can make plenty of it before his use by date is up. The guy has always dreamed of being an All Black and needs to check his loyalty if he makes it, because should he do the same deal to the All Blacks as he has done to the Bulldogs.
It wont be just a club and their fans he will be disappointing but two countries, New Zealand and Samoa.

In regards to contempt of court, id say yes he would be same as Wayne Carey (AFL Player). He needs to show up at court to pay the piper although no doubt the deal releasing Sonny from his contract of $950.000k one would think a part of that payment would go toward court costs and legal fees to settle out of court.
But I guess we will find out about that soon enough,
All the best Sonny.................... ..............

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
only problem uso, the 2 things that made sunny a lengend in league don't mean biscuit in rugby....shoulder charge and off loading during a tackle both a "no no" in ruggers.

Personally don't think he'll make the all blacks, we've got talent already coming through the ranks in NZ not france.

Miraculously...The Bulldogs have dropped charges after receiving over $900K as a transfer fee from Toulon... what happened to their indignance and hurt and betrayed feelings because he walked out?

Proof that money doesn't talk... It SCREAMS!!!
good on Sonny, two years in France to learn from Tana, then home to the Blues...please????

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
If there was a death penalty in the Australian justice system, I am 100% the Bulldog club and the NRL will just love that served on SBW. Come on guys, ok they lost their biggest investment, but the bottom line is SBW walked out on his contract, his club, and league to play rugby union.

Re:Sonny Bill Williams Reply to this message
Sonny Bill could face jail for contempt
AAP - August 14, 2008, 1:10 pm

Runaway rugby league star Sonny Bill Williams has again failed to appear in a Sydney court, making him potentially liable to a jail term for contempt.

Court staff called Williams' name twice in the hallway outside the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday, and got no response.

Barrister Arthur Moses, who is acting for the Bulldogs NRL club, told the court that Williams and his manager Khoder Nasser had been served with orders to attend.

"The first defendant and the second defendant were notified of the listing today," Mr Moses said.

"It would appear at this stage there is no appearance."
