Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
the ball speed is terrible, the off-loads didn't come early enough. The raiders are killing us in that department, running us ragged that we can't form any sort of attack in the 2nd half. They always have someone to cover for the scr aps in case the offloads go to ground, something we somehow didn't have.
The trend in the last few weeks is that there's just not enough space for the outside backs to capitalise, the kicking game is woeful once again. I say drop Jones and let Fien or one of those young guys (Johns, Heremetia?, Foran) have a run. It just cannot get any worse so why not get rid of the person who had been making the errors (ie Jones)?
keeping faith in your crews is a good thing, but the ax just has to fall in times like this. Even Manu have a catching error now.
seriously, that kick which lead to the break to Milnes is just stupid. and i don't see any creativity in the attack.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
drop stacey jones, he'd been playing sht for the last few games. I don't care if we all love him, he is sht.
mannering is always the first one that loses the ball.
slow ball movements, no space created for the outside backs. The forwards just congest in one place and not contributing to the attack.
The warriors are sht at the moment, and unless cleary makes some changes it will stay the same. No enforcers in the pack, lack of ball speed and creativity in the backs. Bring up some new guys and let them have a go coz the team right now is not doing the job.

ajofbrisbane....I guess fien really was playing for himself and a contract rather than playing for the team hence no up graded contract? Very rare for a guy to be able to play test footy yet his club says hes in capable of playing Nrl, you have to start to wonder what's going on?

I don't know if any of you take notice or just couldn't care less, but for me, I'm heartened to see cleary show emotion and look absolutely ropeable watching his players fumble the ball needlessly, that to me is a good indicator that he no longer tolerates basic mistakes, kemp and kirk are prime examples of clearys impatience, no longer is he willing to accept half hearted performances, that's great to see, I also agree with everyone else, a goalkicker is desperately needed, in a competition as tight as this, a goal kicker is crucial.

ajofbrisbane....no worries mate I see where your coming from, fortunately kearneys loyalty has seen him chosen for the kiwis again and that's a good thing, Fien played quite well in the halves alongside stacey jones against the dragons, joel moon looked heaps better out wide in the centres it seemed his natural position, it's heartbreaking to watch the players making such basic and costly errors, the game was definitley their for the taking, the dragons don't seem as daunting to play as what many make them out to be.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
if only those passes stick, we could've smashed the dragons.
but yeah, that's a big if considering that performance.

Cleary had a big task on his hands now, be able to make the warriors hold the balls better. I don't mind the razzle-dazzle as long as they still hold onto the ball.

How did Kemp go in the reserve grade?

How the hell can you let a kicker like him go, idiots.
Sign him back up, hes probably sitting at home with a tissue watching warriors replays.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
good on him, it would be a pity if that injury cuts his career short when he's just about to hit his peak.

For the game this weekend,I think we'll keep Fien and Hohaia as back reserves and shifting Moon to the centres to accommodate them.
