gregory....I just feel that Fien is playing for himself and a contract rather than playing for the team....just look at some of the options he takes.

Kemp probably the fastest on the feild, his centres need to open the gaps for him ..like the Broncos did for him last year!

joel moon can put in the hits, he's a mean tackler, not many get past him, still kicking out on the full though aye , kemp needs to do some practise with the goal kicking and get more involved to he leaves it to manu and lance all the time

like to see if Moon can play a Campese running style game, get his backs running when they get the ball

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
so they are still persisting with moon eh?
just hope he rediscover his running game from round 1 against a smaller opposition, and do not screw up on the left side. I find the warriors got more attacking power when they have henderson, jones, and fien as the 6, 7, 9. Hohaia showed that he can kick a drop goal, so they might chuck him between 6 or 9 like Fien at the moment.
McKinnon was playing good against the Knights until he got injured, just a matter of time before he burn up the opposition in broken play. His combination with Jone was getting better

That's quite extraordinary if that happens, fien, although he hasn't been firing still brings a wealth of experience and a steady head towards the end of games, I like the way the side doesn't panic when behind and how they can slowly build their way back into contention

You have to admire hohaia's spacial awareness and attacking brilliance, he is a formidable attacking weapon for the warriors, I think mckinnon has lost that attacking spark he had in 2006/07, lance has really grown in confidence since gaining regular starts, he still has frailties under the high ball, but that is more then made up for with his attack, Hopefully mckinnon comes from the bench but it will most probably be lance

I see that Wade Mckinnon is back this weekend against the Dragons.I wonder with the way Hohia has been playing wether Wade should come off the bench?I no Hohia is the better impact player but his form has been so good this year.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
geez...now rapira is out for the warriors and possibly for the kiwis as well. so now Ah Mau comes into the team?
Think this one opens the door for another prop reserve, which probably will go to Lima.

Could've won that game, but i guess 1 point is good enough.

Early days still, coming away from Melbourne with 1 point isn't a bad result. Obviously 2 points is better and 0 points would have pissed everyone off.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
the wind is too unstable, one moment it's on, then died down another second. most if not all of the drop goal attempts had been carried wide by the wind.
manu had an injury scare during the match. I hope the decision for not going under the knife won't haunt them in the business stage of the competition.
When can Kemp start scoring tries? Is it because our halves aren't good enough to give him enough space? I don't get it, don't tell me it's the 2nd year blue happening to him.
No disrespect to those two players, but i started to miss Witt now. Initially i thought "okay, moon is a excellent runner, and Kemp can kick goals well". Now moon can only kick long, kemp is not doing any better. 1/4 goal scored is really pathetic. I know it's not helped by the wind, but even Cam smith got 1 from near the sideline. Cleary need to give him a special goal kicking training like he did with Witt.
And Jones, guess he's only human after all. A great player, yes. But not the most dominant one.
I don't get it, what's with warriors' inability to reproduce the intensity they have from the second half to the first? They had a couple of good sets at the start then just drop off.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
Warriors playing like contenders, Jones very unlucky not to nail that drop goal from right out in front, when it bounced off the posts. hard day for kicking, weather was awful.

good hard fought 1 point. Doesn't get any easier with Bennetts dominant Dragons up next, Soward on fire

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
did anyone know what happened to Anthony Quinn? I was at the game and forgot to bring my radio, so I have no idea what injury he suffered

Great determination and a nice comeback from the warriors. But seriously, when can we start to dominant the opposition from the start? Against the featherless chooks and fluttering rain may be alright, but against the red hot dragons we might get smashed, badly.
