Mannering was the obvious choice you would have thought? considering he played well for the kiwis at centre, I applaud cleary's braveness, ah van is still a huge risk in my view.

I thought that too, seeing how Moon went pretty well there for the Broncos last year. Clearly mustve considered it, Ah Van is a good player, lacking a bit of size for a centre though

Broncos just too clinical, done everything at high pace, alex glen looks a good bet as a future kiwi, stunning game broncos, no need to panic warriors

"They have to learn to hate to lose", I'm down with that bro, Yip, they should learn to hate that losing feeling, I like that one.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
ajofbrisbane say's, don't stress, it's only round 3, yes, very true, but this side and the nz rugby league public has high expectation's now following the success of last year's rugby league world cup victory by the kiwis, every performance, whether it be a win or loss, should be dissected right down to the finer details, no longer should we as fans accept mediocrity or heartless performances, iIf they are to go all the way to the title, I'd like to see more in-depth conversations about the going's on as well, I'm gutted that they lost to brisbane and it hurts as a supporter and no I won't get over it, they have to learn to hate to lose.

You guys come up with some incredible information to say the least, I'm only new to these threads, but the information and in-depth knowledge you guys come up with is amazing, It's crazy to think lance hohaia, matterlino and vatuvei are still to come back even with the loss of brent tate who is world class, moon to the centres makes sense having played most of his career their with the broncos, you can play lance, fien or stacey within that halves axis and I'm pretty sure the backrow combination is good enough without making any rash decision's, that's a good looking side outl4w78, still looks a very capable squad.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
Yeah we really do need Ben and Lance back. Been thinking about how the team could now look with Tate definately gone and when Ben and Lance get back

1.McKinnon
2.Kemp
3.Moon
4.Ropati
5.Vatuvei (If he dosent make it back, then Kirk)
6.Fien
7.Jones
8.Price
9.Henderson
10.Packer
11.Mannering
12.Matulino
13.Luck

14.Hohaia
15.Lilyman
16.Rapira
17.Royal (or Tuimavave if he returns)

So basically start Stacey, push Fien to 6 and Moon to centre where he played for the Broncs last year. Lance can pretty much cover any back position and hooker. Mannering can cover centre.

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
yeah warrust good s**t, me too, I'm a bulldogs fan, but I live in nz so I like the warriors, dogz got a good balance in the backrow now, stagg , andrew ryan and greg eastwood, like you say bro, warriors backrow is too defence orientated, they need to be more well rounded, lillyman, matterlino and mick cro*ker would be a beaut backrow, broncs backrow killed the warriors thaiday, te'o and parker, and alex glen, warriors need a better more rounded backrow, that's the problem, stace can't do the damage going backwards

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
that last tackle on rapira, huge.
alex just kept hitting good lines at pace. totally overshadows "big show" who was a bit hyped up before the game. Will be interesting to see his progress this year.

anyway, we really need big ben back. sadly our best attacking back-rower cannot be in squad. The stocks in the loosies will be really tested when Mannering shifts to the centre position. Ukuma played well, I will take my negative comments on him back. Hope he continues or even lift up to fill in the shoes of a certain someone to become an important strike weapon in our team.
if we think about our backrowers in the last round: mannering, lillyman, luck....my first impression = defense-orientated players....I might be wrong about mannering though. that's some good stepping to get that try.
Anyway, the warriors will bounce back this week.

Cheers for the info mate, not good to hear about manu vatuvei's injury as well, hopefully it's not too bad because they definitley missed him, Alex glen was the under 20's broncos captain last year I think I heard? not sure, so he's done well in the off season to gain promotion to the top side, I applaud his effort, he did make some stinging tackles, fully blown away by the pace of the lad and his enthusiasm, that's top stuff
