One player who needs a mention apart from Locke is Lewis Brown. He had a strong game against the Titans. As with Locke he recently made his NRL debut and has been one of the standouts. Maybe we do need more youth in the team.

maybe it's time to bring Issac john and other young halves into the mix? base from the current situation it's unlikely that this combination will lift the trophy, so why not blood some potential great players like we'd done with Locke?
sigh, maybe I am looking too far ahead already.

I think unless they can do a flawless turn around the Warriors 2009 are over.
I agree the guys up top made some questionable decisions in letting Fien and Witt go, cannot understand that at all. I think Jones, even though he is getting on, should stay for one more season for the club, the Warriors basically let go 2 quality players for his comeback this year and I think the least he can do is to hang around for another year because if he goes, we basically have no experienced half left.

Not too sure a bout Finch but ya wouldnt want to give the 300+k salary he was getting at the eels, if the warriors were to pay that then the Lockes, Johnsons, O'regans and Bristoes would be looking else where for contracts

Re:New Zealand Warriors 2009 Reply to this message
Finch would be good alongside Stacey IMO simply because he would be playing second fiddle, which history has shown us he prefers, and he would be great for Jerome Ropati, who won't have to wait for someone to run him out of space before he gets the ball.
That said whether he's worth the baggage he brings (history has also shown us he's a sook) is debateable and we would be better off developing someone like Daniel O'Regan or Shaun Johnson simply because they will get better.

I believe finch will be an astute purchase for the warriors if they secure his services, he is the type of player that can control a game and put people into the positions they're meant to be in with his talking and enthusiasm, a halves combination of hohia and finch sounds quite settling in a way

I'm not so sure on Finch...I agree he does have some good experience, Origin player and enjoyed some success with the Roosters BUT when he went to the Eels to supposedly help them win a premiership....ummm well we all know how that turned out and he hasnt really looked in any good form since. Is he better that Fien??? not so sure

"but i would like to see kevin locke have a run at centre 1 day"

Nah bro Knobz is not a centre, he is a fullback but may become a good half one day, what you dont see now that he has been playing wing is he can throw a good pass.
