| What ever the out come of the trials between Rob and Mahe we are sure to do well at the Olympics. I can't see what Mahe is moaning about, every other country have trials to see who will be in what boat. He's prob had it too easy for too long!! |

at the olympic regatta each nation is only allowed one entry in each event. so we can't send both for the 1 2 which really sucks as they're both outstanding athletes. rowing nz does plan for the loser to be in a double with nathan cohen which could also be fast.
i believe when the time for selection comes mahe will take it out, as he doesn't usually find his top speed until the racing season. in the meantime we just have to wait and see as you can't rush these things! |

| Regardless of the fact that only one of these two guys can go;NZ Rowing is sitting on it's thumbs and letting the bitching go too far. Time this clown outfit got both of these guys and talked tactics for the one that loses in the singles elimination. |

I think in rowing you can only have one boat qualify for each race from each country, not sure but thats what I was told. I might have to go look it up and see what the deal is.

Absolutely agree - if we have 2 hotshots, we should send them both - why deny ourselves the chance of a gold & silver double?
Priority should be given to those most likely to achieve success surely. There are other competitions to bring up the newbies. |

| That sucks!! One Champ and opne former champ and we can't send both of them, are we on a travel budget or something?? For crying out loud, we send ample swimmers, runners with a mere hope of qualifying and a distant hope of a medal, and yet we have possibly to certain medal prospects and we say "Sorry, we only need one single skuller"?? Com'on Richard!! lol |

Waddell gave Drysdale a bit of a spanking. I reckon it sucks that there is only one singles boat qualified for the Olympics, which means one of these two is going to miss out on a shot at singles gold.
If Waddell blitz's at the trials in March it could well be him taking that boat, on the other hand Drysdale has been the man for the past 3yrs. Waddell shed 20kgs even, Drysdale would be gutted if he lost the spot to Waddell. It makes for a very exciting nationals and trials.
