| sure they will. i wouldnt be surprised if they get a 1st round bye. they have a fairly easy schedule. should go 12-4. who's their competition...denver? pittsburg? tough games, for sure, but very winnable |

Last year was a shocker for the Broncos but the West again is up for graps. The D has been bolstered by off season acquisitions of Boss Bailey, Marlon McRee, Josh Barret & Jack Williams (R), and DT Dwayne Robertson. Im not expecting miracles but a vast improvement on last years shambles is a realistic expectation. D-Coordinator Jim Bates brought in a completely different D Scheme which the team struggled with.
McFadden was a bust in week one (no surprise with the Raiders) As for LJ did you even see what happened in the 2 games last season??? Chiefs got smoked in both games and LJ was a no show with injury. Pats will not make it past the wildcard this year.. THATS FOr sure!! |

The broncos wont even win the west, shanahans days of river boat gambling are over, there famous zone blocking scheme will eventually fail when they have got running backs like travis henry and selvin young, almost worst rush D in the NFL which doesnt bode well in a division with the likes of LT, Larry Johnson and now Darren McFadden... admitedly bly and bailey are good but 70 year old john lynch is absent on almost every coverage play
Go Pats |

Are you kidding me?? The Pro Bowl SUCKS!!!! The whole probowl is where the fans pick the teams and the plays. This is just a mere mockery of the game. The PB means nothing and amounts to absolutely nothing. They need to put something on it so it makes the players want to play.. other wise its a waste of time. Having it in Hawaii WTF?? Hawaii has not team, they might as well hold it in Alaska!
The season is almost here!!! August-Pre Season..Then ROLL ON SEPTEMBER!!! I cant wait!!! BRONCOS ALL DA WAY!! |

Like one sign in the crowd read: 18-1.
What an upset but as mentioned already, the d from the Giants was amazing or as Strahan would put it "AMATHING" hahahahaha
Look I'm not a fan of Eli but you can't deny 'Peyton's little bro's' talent. That's the sign of a good player, holding his nerve to throw the winning td in the final seconds...
Still got love for my uce Seau- bad luck sole...but the Hall of Fame will be his PRIZE. |

NYG killers put the smackdown on the Patriots, even i thought the PATS would do the unthinkable and go 19-0. poor brady bunch, at least tom has the pretty girl.
i agree we should see more of NFL on regular TV rather then cricket or even soccer. 91 + million people watched this game, thats an amzing audience. lets give some support to our NFL Teams in NZ stop wasting money on athletics, america cup sailing, and all the sport we've never reallly done well in.
In saying this i must say, it is an over-exposed game and there are far too many people involved in 1 team. To fix the over the top tackling "reason for them having pads and helmets" is fix the tackling technique with the helmets, thats just crazy no wonder why they have highest amount of injuries in that sport, most of them could have been avoided by rules that focus on cleaning up the player pileups, helmet tackling etc.
and yes the money is OFF THE HOOK!!! in this sport |

Sole the Pats got stomped out by the G-Men. As a huge Bronco fan, it was an awesome game. Much respect to the almost-perfect season Patriots, but the front 7 of the Giants did what no other team could do, and that was get penetration on the Patriots O-Line.
Tuck and Strahan were beasts!! Neal, Makins, Light, Koppen & Kaczur were run over a couple of times. Pressure on Brady was the key to beating the Patriots. HC Coughlin & DC Spagnuolo done thier home work.
Two brothers to win a SB in consecutive years goes to the Manning bothers, Peyton last year and now Eli. I think he's so glad he didn't go to the Chargers in the draft.
Congratulations to the Giants! |

| American football players can hit you harder and faster in a short distance, they train especially for this the defense line but league, rugby and aussie rules are for the complete athelete in contact sport and the americans will tell you that your job is to hit, run, score and kick the ball for a continuos 80mn not 15mn periods.IF Rugby was played in periods you would see lightning hard out tackling running and scoering because they have more time to recuporate,American football, rugby, league etc is algood everyone to their own, collins luaki and masoe would be good in american football, you imagine if the AllBlacks had the same money as the patriots in the states the trainig facillities and doctors, the awesome perks we would be hitting like 10tonne trucks |

As the saying goes "A jack of all trades but a master of none" I suppose its all a matter of taste, some people love it some don't, thats just the way it is.
For those who want to discuss NFL with other kiwis register at www.maddennz.com, its a site for those that play Madden on the PS platform but love to talk about thier teams and other NFL related items from a kiwi perspective. All welcome. |

Yeah they specialize in that specific position... But i'd rather watch people that good at PERFORMING ALL ASPECTS OF A SPORT, than someone who is EXCELLENT, at doing one thing.
I used to watch the NFL, but dont have the time now, so i watch the highlights on sportscenter, around the horn and PTI. |

| ...And the fact there is an advert between plays really fucks me off. I am sure the games have a 30 second delay on them or something coz I know that they do not take a whole minute to get ST on the field for kick off or both teams on after a kick return. Damn SKY Australia!! |

ESPN only ever get Sunday and Monday night football. That means this week will be Eagles v Cowboys and Ravens v Steelers.
And to the dude that was going on about having 6 teams or whatever? They have so many players because they SPECIALISE in their position. Find your 11 best tacklers and PUT THEM ON DEFENCE. Find your 11 best ball handlers and skill players and PUT THEM ON OFFENCE. Makes for one hell of a match up when everybody has their own role.
Conclusion: I too prefer to watch NFL over rugby these days. And I have grown up with rugby my whole life. |

DAMN SOO is the sheat!!! Man I think League is streets ahead of union across the board!! (QUEENSLAND Supporter since 1980!) I suppose it is difficult to compare the two in their entirety, as the saying goes compare apples with apples.
I HATE the Pats..becoz their so damn good! LOL Next weekend is coming up as the biggest game of the year, with 2 of the only unbeaten teams Pats v Colts and its not even been televised by ESPN what a balls up!!! Instead I think the Raiders v Texans, COMON RICHARD! LOL AFC will take the superbowl again this year, NFC will be represented by eith the Packers or Cowboys. |

Yeah NFL beats Rugby, for hits, But has a long way to go to get as hard as a good game of State Of Origin.
I thought it was 20 min Quaters sorry, But that makes it worse, 3 hours to play 1 hour of football.
New Zealand likes to have their players multi-talanted, someone that can Pass, run, kick, tackle, catch and scummage (someone like this would've been good at the World Cup).
Not someone to come into a game just to kick the ball, Then someone else to come on and pass or run the ball, someone else to run or catch the ball & someone else to protect the 1/4 Back.
Any way
GO THE PATS!! |

80mins?? Its only 4 qtrs of 15 mins, unless of course there is OT.
NZ Is so far behind the rest of the world and only see's rugby as its main sport, which I have nothing against. The NFL in structure alone is far superior, when you get JACKED UP in the NFL (i.e. Sheldon Brown on Reggie Bush last season) it's like nothing ever seen in rugby. You want the big hits? Then the NFL will wipe rugby off this planet!! The NFL produces atheletes, rugby produces rugby players. Yes the mulah has a lot to do with it, but that a side there is so much more to offer than rugby has. |
