| Did you notice something familiar last night. A team stood up to and knocked the attack out of a star studded opposition who couldn't/didn't change its game plan, and deservedly lost. Remind you of any particular world cup game? Same coach involved? Hmmmm. |

Whats worse than a bad loser? a bad winner!"Cook" Well done highlanders, a deserved win and a fitting send off to a few players, being born in Central Otago, if any team was going to put one over my team I'm pleased it was the Highlanders.
The real measure of a Champion side is how they react from a bad loss, so I'm reserving my thoughts on my beloved Crusaders till next week. They will need to be 100percent better next week, don't despair though Crusader Brothers and Sisters, if anyone can come back from this result Deans boys can! P.S. Cook your boys will have to win a few more games than 3 a season to fill that new stadium of yours. |

ALl this Cants focussing on semis can take a shat becasue Richic and co. got their bottys handed to them royally. It's nice to see ol' caleb still has a bug up his rear especially after that lesson which must have been a major affront.
Crusaders were beaten by a better team on the day but to put cr@p like they were playing for nothing etc is not only disrespectful to the Highlanders it also smacks of arrogance. Cants are still rocking on but accept that this year Highlanders have got the braggin' rights tonight. Saders kicked everyone else but the boys down the line did the kicking this year...well done Highlanders! |

Well, I'm a Canes supporter who don't give a toss about the Highlanders or Crusaders. I put 20 on the Highlanders at the TAB. This is because I suspected an upset. Simply because the Crusaders have nothing to play for. They Crusaders would be more interested in the full time whistle and focusing on the semis, no mind focus on the highlanders. I suspected right and will cash in today.
As for the Canes. I'm filthy about that Sharks game which the Canes should have won but that pathetic Ref didn't go upstairs and as a result, the Home Semi for the Canes is lost. |

Good on the Highlanders but how unfortunate for the mighty Crusaders who only won against the Reds because of two yellow cards and were well beaten last night.
All that smarmy gloating from the Cantabrigade this season may still be for nothing. |

| They have to keep the core of this squad through next season, or at least as many as possible. Let them keep the draft players for another year if those players want to. Let's face it - they weren't wanted by their own provincial Super 14 team, so why not let them go to a team that _does_ want them? Even if their home union wants them back but only to sit on the bench all season, let the players choose between a possible start (through injury/rotation/whatever) for their home team or a much more definite start for another team. |

| Sommervile got owned in the early scrum in the 2nd hald when he gave a we come get some hand gesture and looked real fired up, then the Highlander h!t came in and poor old Sommervile lost 5mm of height and went rapidly backwards a fool to encourage them really. |
