The Wallabies look primed to belt the AB's this weekend. Can't wait to hear the kiwi's post mortems, as I posted in the aussie board the kiwi's will break the suicide record this weekend.

Should be a good game to watch this weekend though.I betted on the Aussies to win their first Tri Nation game.Though up against the AB,s who have stood dowm for a week some how i dont think so.As long as Henry drops that fkn halfback.Said it in the first NZ Tri Nation game yous would have seen him totally too slow so thats my change to the AB,s.Hes absolutely hopeless. But who would you replace him with.Talk is Wepu.

Re:Champion Wallabies vs Soft All Black ... Reply to this message
yeah i think the scrum is still a we bit suspect...
everytime palu ran off the back he was always going backwards, they managed to wheel it the opposite way he was set to run making him go the long way round and in effect this was useless, its just lucky palu is strong enough and retains the ball well enough not to cause turnovers...
scrum is still a big concern, as for the overall picture in the forward battle besdie the scrum its pretty even, breakdown is to clsoe to call
but yip scrumm is of grave concern.....

I agree the_possum, but we can't say it coz de Villiers will call us racist. To be fair though the Boks are damn good cheats, hardly ever get caught.

Pointless to talk about the scrum nicolte. de Villiers says we cheat at it.

Nope, that pretty much summed it up, except maybe, thoughts on the scrum? How do you think you will go considering how well you did against SA? I personally still think you have issues but these just weren't exposed by the SA's, or they were just very well countered by the OZ.

ivea I think your right with the Aussies kicking. The ABs have shown to be a bit vulnerable under the high ball which also happend to be one of the Aussies strengths- must be the Aussie rules thats makes them so good under it.

Re:Champion Wallabies vs Soft All Black ... Reply to this message
atleast you acknowledge the fact they are dynamic lol
nah aussie havent won it since 2001 buddy and havent had the bledisloe since 2002.... so what??
it doesnt really mean i whole lot in the scheme of things,
rugby aint like the stock market where you can use historical data to help predict the future,
hope richie plays this weekend and so does mortlock so both teams have most of there strike players back..
aussie still missing vickerman, if hes back and so is ali/thorne the lineout is gunna be one spectical to watch, gunna be hotly contested...
the battle in the loose will be awsome, smith v mccaw, palu vs kaino, elsom vs thompson,
The inside backs is full of contrasting styles,
Giteau and DC going for props in the "best 1st 5 category"
skinny, skillful barnes versus the monster nonu,
opposite to the monster mortlock at 13 vs the skinny, tactics of smith,
I do genuinely beleive the aussie wingers on form have it over the ab's but this can all change with the quality of ball they get...
i think the cross kick will be utilised heaps by aussie targeting the wings if they get deep enough inside ab territory..
man cant wait.
any criticisms on my thougts??/
i bet there are heaps

{wow imagine that, abs with no silverware and a wooden spoon hahah}

One thing I like about postings like yours ivea is you help us NZers to forget our petty provincal rivalries and focus on our real enemy.
Oh yeah, the All Blacks may end up with the wooden spoon, it could happen but just like Winter, they always come back.
Now how long has it been since the Wallabies have held the Tri Nations?
Sorry, I forgot, your 'young' and 'dynamic' Wallaby side should take it out any year now.
I've been hearing that since 2002.

Aussie were fresh and the boks were sore and not fizzing. Next week the AB's will be fresh. If the AB's play with the same intensity they did the first two the aussies will have nothing but their coaches words. Lets face it!

Re: iveas comment that Deans has knowledge of the canty AB players. Deans replied that yes he knows how they play but they know that he knows etc. A good comeback to a silly question. Those players are in a different setup with different combos and gameplans. Should be a cracker of a game. I can't wait.
GO ALL BLACKS.

Re:Champion Wallabies vs Soft All Black ... Reply to this message
Normally, the big matchup is the Boks vs the ABs. It's a battle of the packs, and the dominant pack gets to feed their backline. Normally the Boks have a great pack and a slightly weaker backline, while the ABs have a great backline and a slightly weaker pack. The Wallabies can be good or bad, but they're usually built along similar lines to the ABs, with the backline being stronger than their pack.
So the matchup we look forward to is the Boks. Hard men, playing hard (and pretty loose with the rules at times, but that's life). What I don't expect to see is the Boks beating the ABs then immediately losing to the Wallabies. The Wallabies soaked it up for the first half, then came back harder in the second. Very un-Wallabylike, but reminescent of the Crusaders. Not pretty, not flashy, but it worked. At Subi, too, which is not a good ground for them.
That makes the ABs vs Wallabies game a much more interesting matchup than I had expected. Tuqiri, Smith, Mortlock, and above all others, Elsom playing well. It's going to make this game much more interesting. We know that playing in the Republic will be tough, those guys live and breathe rugby, and are as parochial as Crusaders fans, if not more so. A win in this game will set the team up for the Republic, so this one is a must-win for both sides.
Very cool!

Totally forgot about Rocokoco Nicolte.

Way back this Roko/Tuqori match up was one of a few "big ones" I was looking forward to.
And , yep , it was to decide which of the two would be in my World XV... or thereabouts.

This weekend will be a good test. Aus were lucky to play S.A after their two games against the All Blacks and not beforehand. I reckon the Ab's can win but you never know....... ... ...Australia always seem to pull one out of their argh's.

As I said ivea "IMO", this will be the biggest test for us, not because it might decide the tri, but because it is SA at home, they are the current world champs, and at the moment the score sits at 1-1 for the year.

Re:Champion Wallabies vs Soft All Black ... Reply to this message
whats unrealistic about that??
ohh thats right i said something that is adverse too the all blacks and you beleive this to be me talking trash
why do you see it as talking trash..
you said that the aussies might see it as there biggest game of the season but the all blacks biggest game will be their last game against SA in SA>>>
What makes you think that this will be the case??
What have you seen that i havent to make you 100% confident that the tri nations will be decided between the all blacks and south africa in 2008????

Re:Champion Wallabies vs Soft All Black ... Reply to this message
flax, last night the Boks were as I said "pitiful", if they had played like that against us we would have taken 5 points by way of bonus point for 4 try's. Of course I am not suggesting they are a pitiful side, they beat us last week, what I said was their play last night was.

ivea, that haka is GONEburger. At least I hope it is, we don't need anything to detract from what should be a great game this weekend. It might be the biggest rugby game of the year for OZ, but for us IMO, that will come when we play our last test against SA in SA.
