that's why play carter @ 12 & Nonu at 13. Donald can do the territory thing and leave the dynamic duo to wreak havoc in the midfield. Focus on one of them, the other one breaks through, just like last night. |

| IMO i recon the ozzies were *** and we deserved to win we should of spanked the *** pies last week too. carter was on fire last - pity the midfield had an off night...
nonu's worst game of the season by far...
sivi make some telling breaks but was cut short with no support...
carter broke giteau on numerous occasions - but the score was reading in gits favour...
just have to wait till saturday i guess:):) |

| Giteau has the better service from halfback & 8 so has more time to clear & sum up options. Carter was behind a bumbling 9 & * & yet still produced a world class performance & ran thru Giteau like he wasn't there. Giteau is too small for 12 as proved over recent years when tried there. But Giteau is developing into a 10 in the mould of Mehrts, good runner, kicker & passer & reads the game well. |

Nz was getting hammered because aussie played great. Theres no doubt that they wanted it more than us. Its got nothing to do with the fact that carter is cr4p or great. What i'm saying is carter didn't play bad. He didn't make any total stuff ups that actually lost us the game.
But unlike giteau, who got praised for a pass that any international player should make IN WET CONDIDTIONS, carter walked all over him. That game showed how giteau is a better 2nd 5 that a 1st. His defense is poor, and i think with his running game he would have a lot more freedom one position out.
So too say giteau rates higher above carter in the 1st 5 position. to quote the tui billboards... yeah right! |

just like most ab suporters at the moment, you support mediocrity. Thats why 95% of people on here think Carter is sooooooooo great. I find it quite funny that people like you are so quick to stand up for an ab 1st5 after a thrashing from an aussie team that before the game, you would be saying couldnt get within 20 points of the abs |

lol 1st half? what are you on about. Nz got totally hammered in the first 30minutes of the game. Somehow i don't think carter had much of a chance to win the game right then and there.... you are a joke!
Sure sivivatu had some breaks in the 1st half and if there had of been some support then we coulda got some valuable points, but for winning the game in the first half... nice |

m-family, i actually rate barnes' kicking game higher than i will ever rate giteaus. It was more barnes' kicking game forcing the nzers on the back foot.
As for the 1st five running the show, i agree. Although it doesn't help when u have complete screw ups like Lauaki who come on as "impact players" and drop the ball every touch they make, and miss a ton of tackles. You need the ball to score points, and our handling errors cost us. Its as simple as that.
I won't get started on the penalty try that should of been awarded, because like that world cup forward pass.. whats happened has happened. I believe aussie wanted it more, just as SA wanted it more 2 weeks ago. I think nz is missing the passion to win these intense games. The other teams play like they have nothing to lose, which i think is fair enough. If your in the mindset, " *** we are playing the no1 team in the world, lets give it too them" then you're always going to be hard to beat. |

Morning boys.Yep feeling a bit hung over but pretty happy.
It's funny when you are at a game with 80,000 odd people it gives a different perspective than TV.
Also someone said that it was strange that ABs came over to Sydney so late in the week and that ,body *** time ,they were playing at 10.00pm.Almost bed time for a rugby player.They were deffinatly out-played and out enthused.
Some of the Aussie tackling was great stuff.I think the aussies wanted it more. |
