jambaba03, weak British Lions side??? Your not serious ar you. That was one of the strongest Lions teams in history. It was stacked full of the Eng 03 team your right, but mate they were the WC champs and beat us on our soil in 03 as well. Not a bad record.
Don't be fooled by the NZ media pump up of the time that they were "dads army etc", experience is everything in Test footy.
Nth Hemp have been sending weak teams down here for years mate, didn't only start when Henry was coaching the AB's. |

| He won against a weak British lions side. People have said that he relied on his 03 english side too much for the tour. you also have to look at the quality of the teams that toured here, most of them except Ireland were b and c teams. And about the world cup, at least he finished 3rd, and to do that you need to make it passed the quarter final. |

henrys all blacks smashed the british lions 3 zip....thumped the french on french soil twice (2004,2006) ....and notched up his 50th win as all black coach against that boy that now coaches australia:):):) lol

Henry let go of the reins this year and let Hansen work with the forwards uninhibited. These three are a team as well. |

You would have to be an idiot to think only board members wanted Henry reinstated.
Take the two, deans (yes dont deny it, youre a disciple) super 14 coached players that are core to the abs, McCaw and Carter (spew). Dont you think they were two of the senior abs that were asked their opinion of the coaching set up and the other applicants.
And you can be sure if those two players wernt behind Henry 100%, Carters French contract would be for longer than 6 months and McCaw would be basking in the French sun for the next 4 years.
I think you also forget his head coaching role as the guy that lost the bledisloe, and lost to Englang at home. |

Latedogg... Sorry you had to put up with the comments that did not deal with your theory at all. I suppose that is the price you pay when you try and have an intelligent conversation in a public forum.
I agree complete with your theory.
The NZRFU was exposed after the world cup failure and they had no choice in appointing the hun. They knew that and he knew that the only calls he received to support him and ask him to re-apply were from board members.
Everyone that goes on about Henry being such a great coach during the tri-nations this year are trapped in the same spell as the NZRFU board. The coach that turned out to be essential this year was Wayne Smith. Without him the AB's would have lost worse that their going down in flames during the WC.
Wayne Smith initiated the change in the AB's play, he led the coaching was instrumental in winning the tri-nations this year.
Steve Hansen will do worse in 2011 that the hun did in 2007 without Smith.
Wayne Smith is the unsung hero. |

without a world cup win Henry's record means nothing? what are you high on crack? I suppose that last win against Aussie was totally pointless then right? what are you driving at? The abs team that lost in Saffa when Lomu was there could have easily been the best Abs team ever considering they destroyed everyone before them and then lost in the final but I guess you like the rest of them consider one loss better than another...either way sunshine a wins a win and a loss is a loss...on what grounds was that Abs team that Nery took to the World cup the best ever? its insane to say that if Henry doesn't win a WC his record means nothing, with that logic the only good AB coach since 87 is B.Lochore. Do you really think the public would happily see the AB's lose every game between now and 2011 just to win the WC. Dream on di.ck. It's nobs like you that were calling for change after the boks beat us this year.
Henrys record isn't good, its freakin great.
