I agree, cowan and weepu were a great little combo.
another thought on Elis, I just cant see him having an edge over any other player in the tri nations.
As most of you know I'm a henry supporter most of the time but I will tag him on things I dont agree with and persisting with Elis is one of those things.
But it may have been a case of the fact weepu was in no mans land, Leonard is injured and Cowan had been a nawty boy. But I honestly think Elis was a factor in the two losses and think the result would have been different for sure in the dunedin game. |

| Cowan should be the starting halfback, Piri on the bench. Ellis has to be gone now. Watch Piri's passing on the weekend, good bullet like accurate passing even when the scrum was goin backwards much better than Ellis |

| cowans a bit of a goer alright,blimin hek,its that attitude he brings that pleases me the most,hes an in your face rugged competitor,he took no sh#t from the boks,held his own and set the backs on some nice raids with his fluid crisp passing,also his cover tackling is unquestionably some of the finest in world ruggaz,the sharpness of cowan and the authoritiveness of piri really compliments the type of style the ab's are playing at the mo!!? |

The thing I like about Cowan was that he has that aggressive attitude required of halfbacks. His kicking is good, workrate is exceptional, cover defense good, runs when it's on and best of all his pass is quick and accurate.
he backed up nicely on saturday. |

| Weepu again was great when he came on and both he and Cowan once again showed what we were missing with Elis on the field. Much better and faster clearance, even with NZ's scrum under pressure. Cowan’s defence was fantastic. |
