And as we all know tries are scored by individuals and aren't the result of 14 other players getting the 15th over the line.
Habana does his job well, which is to score tries. There are other players who do their jobs better. Unfortunately gaining turnovers or scrummaging aren't as glamorous.
I would wager that if another team had won the RWC, this thread would have a different title. |

<ok...so the IRB union made a mistake by awarding him player of the year? why didn't Richie McCaw get it?>
Lets face it, the award had to go to someone who won the WC didnt it?
Personally my choice for last year would have either been Evans or the Argintinian 1st 5 |

| agree with the X-factor. McCaw hands down is #1. to be the best in the world you at least need to be the best at your position of play & Habana is hardly that. |

| Habana is not the best player in the world. One of the better wingers running about at the moment. Although not the force of nature that Lomu was or has he the dazzling footwork of Jason Robinson or Shane Williams. He dosent have much of a kicking either like the great Jeff Wilson or that lighting accleration like Rupeni Caucauinbuca in his prime. However he still has Speed to burn, and he uses it well in open space but in tighter situations against the stronger rugby playing nations dosent have that genuine X-factor to break a game wide open on his own, which all the above players that I have mentioned have done on numerous occassions. Habana needs his insides to set him up or he will go for the intercept. Still a very good player, but best in the world? Come on, there are plenty of players that have been mentioned that could be named as the best in the world. IMO, at this point in time it would be Ritchie Maccaw. Hands down the best player on the planet. |

| I really think he's over-rated, has alot of speed, but as we know you need more than raw speed in the modern game of rugby, you also need brains. Some others are more worthy than him. |

No, he`s a show pony, who`s pace looked good against nobody`s at the last RWC, but is being found out this season, like the coach, he`s there for political reasons.
There`s plenty of wingers running round in Air NZ Cup ,that would be in my team ahead of him.
Guilford,Vainakola,Perez, Gear,Austin,Waqaseduadua, Tuitavake, the list goes on,and theyr`e only from the North Island, there`s a whole lot more down south.
There...that ought to get wayne the monkey spanker going. |
